Coming from 90+mpw and good, hard training with great races, I got hurt and took two days off. Came back with a good 400 workout, a day off, and en easy run then a good race the next day. I had to take the next three days off and cross trained a lot on the bike and elliptical to stay is shape. The following day I sucked in a workout then went easy the next two days, then I had a terrible race 40 secs. slower than normal. I took a couple days off and came back to training full-time (not as much as before) and a week later was still 30 seconds slow in a hard race. Now my legs are unbelievable sore when the workload is only a little more than half what it usually is...is that because my body got out of touch in the last three weeks. I mean i went from all-time best running to now struggling bad with the legs and fitness seemlingly gone after months of good mileage and good workouts. It wasn\'t even that much time of. I do have a bad iron problem that I got corrected earlier in the season and am still taking iron and eating right, but could my levels be dropping cause I feel like I did when I was badly anemic. Why did so much ability go away so soon--my big race is in two and half weeks!
