Did you see the DMR record set by Jesuit? I was there and their strategy for the relay was for each member to run as fast as possible.
Good point. Cheserek and Williams could afford to run tactically because the first three legs ran balls out to make the last exchange at about 12:04, far enough ahead of the rest to let them go out in 3:20 and kick. Everyone running legs 1-3 leaves it on the track.
And why even make it NP specific. Any HS team with 4 guys under 4:10 should get an invite. As far as NP goes, though, they should absolutely make as much of this as possible. Anything to raise the profile of running and T&F in America, particularly distance running, should be encouraged by anyone who cares about the sport.
