They'd get smoked of course. Is there a HS division lol
So what if they lose or get smoked? They could set an untouchable high school record in that race… there is no competition for them if they try it against any team with kids their age.

+1
Point was lost on that guy

Kind of seems like he's just talking smack. I'd be fine with just adding their PRs at the end of the season anyway.
I would be willing to have NP run 8x8 and they would still get smoked.
High schoolers run in college races all the time…that being said this race itself often ends up tactical, and I’m not sure it’s honestly the best setup to run fast. They’d lose obviously but probably mostly cuz the last 400 and 200 could be in 55 and 26 respectively.
I think you’re underestimating Sahlman the Elder to say that. He has a wicked kick and if the other 3 can bring it through 3 miles with the other teams, i would not put it last Colin to outkick a lot of teams anchors and split a 3:54-8 on the last leg. He is just that good, finished every race this fall by putting a 2 second gap on his teammates in the last 150. Hopefully thh hgh is rsce happens so that they can shut up the haters once and for all.
I’ve always said they need to race an open/college invite to get close to their full potential in this relay unless the race is set up for them to start lapping people fast. But if they go to the Penn Relays, since there is a high school division of the same race, would it count as a high school national record? Something is telling me no.
I think he’d hold his own with many collegiates to be clear. That’s a pretty lofty prediction, we shall see.

isnt there a B heat they can run? That being said it normally is won in like 16:20. They might be close to that.
They wouldn't win. The odds of them all pr'ing in the same race are pretty remote. Even if they run faster than the existing hs record, it shouldn't count because the previous record was set in a high school race. All this stuff about what they might do is getting old. They were very impressive last week, but the still didn't quite match the pre-race hype. The 4xmile would be the same. Let's celebrate what they are and enjoy that. Alabama isn't going to beat the Jaguars or Lions either.
Think Penn has the 4x1500, Drake runs 4x1600.

I agree with Alabama and refraining about talking what they might do. It is getting old.. But didn’t match the pre-race hype?? C’mon…They went 1-3 with those 3 under Ritz’s record, scored under 30 points, had all 7 under 15, and averaged 5 seconds off the previous Individual course record. They pretty much matched the hype (which was insane to begin with).
Throw the times out as to not give anyone a reason to nitpick.
Even without the fast times, four boys from one HS team went 1,2,3,6 at a national meet.
Then, the 5th place at this meet won footlocker.
How is a team proving that they have the best 3 runners in the nation on the one team not living up to the hype?
I expected 1-4.
Penn Relay is always so slow/tactical. Winning time in 2019 was 16:39 (team included Hacker, Hoare and McDonald). Probably the worse place to go for a fast time
Has NP run a tactical race ever? Those kids just hammer from the gun every race. I feel like they would just run at their own pace 4:00-4:05ish and the collegians would follow that if it came to it.
I first was thinking that is was silly. But it would get more people to watch. I just don't know if it would cause teams to skip the event because so many stick B teams in and they wouldn't want to lose to a HS. So it may backfire.
