I tuned into Faux News and saw this banner "Fair and Balanced". I mean really, how much of an idiot would you have to be to believe that s**t? They kept flashing it up over and over again like kindergardeners with frog guts. It was the dumbest f**king thing I'd seen in a long time. I wonder if they're still doing it?

PSS Racism is dead. It's economics and education that matter. Period, End of story. If you believe that a white kid whose parents make 25k a year has a better chance of making it than a black kid whose parents make 200k a year then you my friend need to go out back and blow your brains out. You can swap the black kid and white kid and the result is the same. It comes down to OPPORTUNITY and WORK. It is no longer RACE.

Far from it. Racism is alive and well here, even in blue states. Example: While renting a car for two days with my parents, we were offered a free upgrade to another kind of car. We declined. While we were doing paperwork, a black couple entered the store and were told that there were no cars available for the day.
Your example is extreme. What if we changed the numbers to 50K and 70K? Bet your bottom dollar that the lower-income white kid will have a better chance than the higher-income black kid. This is where I'm told that acknoledging these disparities is a defeatist attitude. Well, that's easy to say when you're the one sitting on top.
If you are actually interested in learning anything, you might pick up "Living With Racism" by Feagin and Sikes that examines the ways that racism affects middle-class Blacks, with numerous examples and testimonials. It is not a perfect study, lacking the sort of quantitative analysis that would leave no doubt, but it sure puts to rest the idea that it's all about class these days and not race.
And poor Asian kids blow rich kids, white, black, and all the other non-Asian colors, out of the water. It's culture, not economics.
I'm not Asian, but that's the truth. None of this matters for me personally because I blow almost all kids of all colors and economic strata out of the water and have all my life. (Ah, the advantages of anonymity.)
we used to be called colored but that too is misleading because Asians, Indians, Latins etc have more colorful skins than whites ( who are actually more pink).I guess brothers and sisters are stuck with "black " which in racial matters means "shades of brown".
How 'bout if we went back to negro? That would be more inclusive and shouldn't have you worrying about "shades" like black does. Personally I prefer africans. Of course even negro doesn't fit some of your more high yella types. What do you call those guys?
A lot of Asian (and some non-asian) countries refer to black people as negros. Matter of fact, I read some articles from that part of the world, where as a reference to global cultures, they would refer to Africans as negros.
The word negro is coming from the term Negroids. Just like whites are Caucasian. South Indians are Dravidians,etc...
My question about PCness is why is it in some surveys they will ask you if you're a Caucasian or African American?...where in fact if you were using such terms it should be Caucasian, Negroid, Dravidian,etc...
Speaking of racism, there's a growing number of cases of Black on Hispanic racism......a topic to discuss another time, in another forum.

A friend of mine in college was a white South African who moved to the US when he was young and became a US citizen. So was he African American?
"African American" is a misnomer.
ok since this is a reocrring theme....check an actual application, most if not all say black/african American, to prevent this. Just as they specificy between hispanics and non hispanic black.

Amazing (or not) that no one has yet responded to your very informative, stereotype-smashing, put-a-whole-new-perspective-on-it post. Which just goes to show what people really want to argue about here.
Of course, this also shows why the Republicans have achieved their recent years of success nationally- because people are prone to get hung up on racial and religious issues at the expense of economic ones.
None of the black people I know mind me calling them black. It's what they are. I don't get offended when they call me white. Being all PC is a bunch of s***.
I DO not look like SHAQ, .
I want to be called a the greatest track and field athlete of all time in the whole universe who just happens to be a homosexual african-american long-jumper sprinter.
