Hey SFR don't forget JS was to coach Kam to a 15km WR untill Kam woke up 😉
Isn't Kam's thon PB nearly 5 minutes slower then Bekele's?
The dope provides immense hubris so no wonder he says he can go sub 2.

New York is a slow course.

Theoretically he maybe can run a sub 2 hour Marathon. My 2 x half Marathon time + 5 min, will give at least 2 x 58 +5min = 2:01possible. Future will tell....
The last guy to run the unofficial sub 2 is a marathon GOAT, and had all the help he needed to achieve that feat. Not even the best illegal pharmacist is the world will help anybody achieve an official sub 2, never ever.
And so say all of us.
In order to run a legit sub 2 you need to be able to go 57:30s for a legit half. Jacob Kiplimo has done that and therefore has the best shot at sub 2. I don’t see Kamworo doing it. A 2:01 at best for him.
On a side note Kipchoges science experiments have taken the fun out of the sub 2 quest.
Really bad luck for Kam with the accident. Hope he comes back stronger than ever. His HM world championship race in Cardiff - getting knocked over at the beginning of the race onto the wet pavement and stepped on by a bunch of the field before getting up and winning, with Karoki and Farah and plenty of others in the field - will always be incredible.

Quite sure we will see an official sub-2 in the next 10 - 20 years.
We have already seen two 2:01s, and they were run by athletes arguably behind their peaks, with Kipchoge running 17 km and Bekele 7 km alone (with a tight harmstring). Looks like there's room for improvement.
There will be more and hungry talents, and technology and training will continue to improve.
