Wow! Rob Krar won !!
Amazing!!
I’m going to his Ultra camp for sure now 👍🏻!
Dude has been on fire this year. Great run.
Ultra runners are like the punters of the NFL.

Learn to insult people properly - ultra runners are the punters of the competitive running scene.
Punters are the punters of the NFL.
Ultra runners are to the running world what the Americans marathon men are of the world marathon majors, shadows and dust!
Barner has the record?

??? I know Park Barner had some good results there back in the day, but according to the ol' internet, the fastest he ran there was 6:23.
CR is 5:18:40 by Hayden Hawks in 2020.

Considering his average pace works out to about a 6:22 minute mile, most of the people on here can't keep that up for a half marathon let alone for 50 miles. So to disrespect someone that can do that just shows you're a loser and you're insecure about not accomplishing anything in life.

Surprised that Brooks sponsored this event. $250 to stroll the trails on the Appalachian Trail.
Less than 1/3 of it is on the AT. More than half is on the C&O Canal Towpath. So if you want to be snarky, describe it as $250 to run on the Towpath.

+1 excellent
Frankly, I’m tired of reading all the guys here trashing ultra runners (yes, I know, I don’t have to read the comments).
Please show these folks the respect they deserve.
They are serious athletes just like you.
I’ve never run an ultra, having raced just one marathon (2:57 on 5 miles a day training),
but I just don’t get the impulse to trash these folks…

Not to mention his split on the canal towpath, which is almost exactly a marathon at 26.3 miles, was 5:59 pace (2:37). So he ran a 2:37 marathon after already racing 15.5 miles on and off the AT.
Peterman ran at CU and has solid D1 credentials. Looks like he's made a nice transition to the longer ultra-trail world. Also won Speedgoat earlier this year

Peterman credits Seth DeMoor as his inspiration to hit the trails. Nice.
Since we are still focused on NCAA XC, it looks like Peterman finished 89th in 2017. Interesting to see who else finished around him. CU men were 8th.

He only won because "Sure Win" Benov didn't race this year:
Colin Sahlman runs 1:45 and Nico Young runs 1:47 in the 800m tonight at the Desert Heat Classic
