It depends on what you mean, for the marathon the edge goes to the kenyans. On the track it is all Ethiopians.

It's something Americans have not known about for over 50 years, the idea that you go into a certain sport or field because you can feed your family, or at least yourself, on it.
I'm a 'tronics nerd. I always liked sciency stuff, but I locked onto electronics when I saw that this one old guy, my older sister's boyfriend, was fat. You see, I was not fat, none of my friends was fat, and the future looked only skinner (and was for a while) for me. If this guy could afford to be fat, he was doing something right. And he did "electrical engineering". OK, I will do that.
That's how about 99% of the world works. The Kenyans kick ass because they are the epitome of that.
