I hope he runs and faces Ramaala, Kiflezighi, Negussie and Cheruiyot among others. It would be fun to watch.

I'm really pleased that Tergat won today.... The guy deserves it. He ran a really smart race and always looked in control (I think he had another gear if it had been needed)..... He covered the break that Ramaala and Cheruiyot made before 20 miles brilliantly.
Think Tergat has unfinished business with London (rather than Boston) in 2006.... That could be a real showdown if Haile G also participates.... Then possibly Chicago, Amsterdam or Berlin next autumn.... He's going to be 37, so I suspect he's only got another couple of years of top level racing left in him.... he needs to ration his racing.
man...37. it's funny how people on letsrun get all suspect about people's performances when they push 40, but this guy is getting pretty near up there himself. yes it is possible to be competitive at an older age...
He'll be back in London. He's not going to do Boston.
Why would he run Boston? BAA's piggybank is too small.
Herdsman,
I agree. The only reason I'd want Tergat to run in Boston is because of the terrain. The guy is actually better than I ever give him credit for. The way he covered that break- I believe he was about 35 secs behind- was just incredible. He should probably meet Haile and Limo Felix as well wherever he wants to run.
As for money, I don't believe that Tergat runs for money any more. By his and Kenyan standards, he has more money than most of us will ever make. At 36, he is just great.
Boston is too cheap to pay for Tergat or Geb. Too bad they can't get fresh blood in like NY director Mary Wittenberg.

Well not entirely true....I believe there's a shoe company willing to pay anyone a million dollars if they win boston in their shoes. My roomate was telling me about it...can't remember the name.
