OK, this isn't a running post but if people can debate here whether this years USC team is one of the all time greats (I think they are by the way), then I can post about this being the all time CHOKE football teams that the Washington State Cougars have ever had. (Of course, I'm probably the only one on this board who cares).
Any other Cougs out there? How is it possible for a team to lose 5 close games that they could just as easily have won? (the 6th loss where they didn't blow it in the 4th quarter was to USC, so that one was understandable). Did they forget to tip lady luck? Is it their crappy defense? Well, today the defense played great in the second half only to have the coaches blow it by taking 3 points off the board late in the 4th quarter (that would have tied it) and going for it on 4th and 1. Then they get the ball back with @3 minutes left, are driving it's 3rd and 5 from the ASU 26. I was thinking OK run the ball because if Brink gets sacked it's a LONG field goal into the wind. So what does Levenseller/Doba do? They call a pass play and naturally Brink gets sacked so they have to attempt (and fail) a long field 52 yard goal into the wind. Am I the only one thinking they should have run the ball and go for the tie at that point?
I really think the coaches blew this one. But, it's still amazing that the Cougs couldn't at least have won ONE of these close games. OK I'll shut up now. I think I'll go out and run hard AGAIN today....
