Clean house needed. Fife had no business being an assistant (and well paid one) at a Power 5. Incompetence from the top down at all levels. Excited to see Whitman and Petros build a respectable and competitive program again in an excellent HS track state.
If anyone knows or is looking for a start in the collegiate coaching profession… 10K part-time / D1 … it will get you a full time job after a year of grinding.
Central Arkansas University - All Event areas are being considered.
I can't speak on the assistants since there's been so many changes recently but the problem at U of I seemed to start and end with Turk. Quite a few of the athletes were vocal about their issues with him and it didn't appear that he thought that his job was ever in jeopardy. Based on some of the allegations towards him over the past 4-5 years, I'm surprised that he last that long.
I have to believe that Lynn Smith will be gone since he's coaching the events that Petros coaches.
Brandon Hon might be safe since he's probably the best at his event group compared to the other coaches. Unless of course Petros has someone else in mind.
Agreed, lots "...of people want to be college coaches as proven by this thread." That is not the point. You actually make that point well in the next sentence - schools want coaches with lots of experience and expect them to take the position with low wages.
The reason they can't find the "right" person is often exactly that - low wages and people within our profession may be starting to decline those offers and move out of the profession.
In absence of qualified candidates less experienced individuals take those positions - some of those inexperienced individuals take advantage of the opportunity and do well, but many falter ill-prepared for the realities of the job.
Nope. Plenty of people want to be college coaches as proven by this thread. Some schools just have a high asking price of lots of experience and low wages, so they can’t ever find their right person.

I thought he was just waiting to be named Director at D1 ETSU soon? What happened?
Judging by his Twitter and Instagram posts he seems to be more interested in content creation then coaching at the moment. So maybe he thought being a "director" was the best way to go about this I don't know.
