Her stride is just so smooth, economical and easy. May not work as well in track distances but she can really crush 26.2.

Has anyone else noticed that for some reason she refuses to draft off other runners? I noticed in Sapporo and then again today. If she would only sit back in the pack, she’d be able to go with the African s when they surge. As it is, they enjoy her courtesy pacing.
hey maybe you can explain that to the little lady if you can corner her on an airplane. shed be a great runner if she just listened to the advice of the letsrunners clearly...
The patronising advice is unnecessary, but polarbear4 raises an interesting point. In Sapporo, Seidel wasn't out front pacing but she was always off to the side. Today, it was like she never wanted to be in the pack, unlike Yeshaneh who never left Jepchirchir's heels. Maybe staying out of the pack lets Seidel run the shortest line. Whatever, it works for her, I don't think she needs advice from the LRC brains trust

Being 27 and unmarried is pretty damn normal lol. Isn’t she in a long-term relationship anyway?
You do know she ran the #3 indoor all time 5k in 15:15 to win ncaa nationals correct? With her personal experiences in life and unlike many others, she prefers the roads over track. Kellyn (Johnson) Taylor was also 3rd in the ncaa 1500m indoors while at Witchita state in 2009.

She said on the Ali running podcast that the East Africans were shoving her in Sapporo, telling her that's how it is in the front. So she veered off tangent rather than be pushed around,
She's a talented young women, from the beginning. A Foot locker cross country champion in high school with multiple wisconsin state championships. She won an NCAA cross country and NCAA outdoor 10k title, too.
Watching her putting her work out on Strava and having so much success is very fun.

Seriously OP? SeidAl??? Just learn how to spell her goddamn name. Why is it that Americans can't distinguish vowels in names? Its a German name and Seidel sounds *nothing* like Seidal. But then again English is mashing names since forever because its pronunciations make no sense.
Seriously runningchick? Its??? Just learn how to use a goddamn apostrophe. Why is it that (insert whatever non-US country you are from) can't distinguish between its and it's?
Please tell me you're joking.
There were enough impressive performances by Americans in this race and in the past few weeks that there should NEVER be another thread on Sarah Hall. The young marathoners are taking over. That said, even Flanagan can probably beat Hall right now.
Those times are pretty tame now. So many girls have ran faster in last 3 years. But I don't think they have the same endurance speed for the marathon.

Great race for Molly without an ideal build up, she will threaten 2:20 next year on a fast London, or Berlin type course. However she may run the WC in Eugene where the weather could be a factor, so maybe only a Spring Marathon and then the WC Marathon?
If it's as hot as it was at the Trials this year, then it could be an issue, but I think Seidel proved at the Olympics she's not a wilt-in-the-heat runner for typical summer weather.

2:25:53 by Kara Goucher.[/quote
You knew who had the record as you know how to use a search engine.
Molly is way better than Kara ever was.
OK. It doesn't mean that Kara wasn't a damn good runner. She was.

She ran away from the pack because those in the pack were being rough with her. Elbowing and such.
Exactly. It's the JV time brag, but good effort I guess.

Would you rank her among the top ten marathoners worldwide ATM?

Ah, ok. Tough to have to learn how to deal with that in the Olympic marathon but she obviously handled it well. It's one reason why I think Americans need to race overseas a lot more than they do, the pack at the top level can be brutal. The NCAA and domestic races don't prepare athletes for that
Yeah, on the podcast she said the east africans were really trying to put her in her place -especially because she was a newby. After the race they said they hated her during the race, but respected her at the end as she ran well, but they will crush her. She even said Galen was stepping on Eliud in their race and he's like "if you want to run in front go in front" before Eliud took off and ran until the finish. With that kind of attitude she backed off and stuck to the side
Molly is the hero we don’t deserve. Love the balls on her. (Is that an insult now?)
But please, someone help me out-while on First Ave, almost at the same time the Kenyans started to pull away, did I see Molly high five someone on the side as she was leading?
I’m not bringing this up I’m a “she should be focused and not screwing around way”. I thought it was on par with her attitude and why the hell not. I just want to know if I’m crazy and made that up in my mind.
