Maybe through mile 13.. the guy will go out way too fast.
I’ve run 2:24, and Seth has beaten me pretty handily in races we’ve done (trail). He has the talent to be a 2:16-2:18 guy, maybe even 2:13-2:15. But that is still worlds away from being top 3 or top American in a major.

fattyMidpack: That's OK, Seth. Still my hero.
MountainBoi: Let's see if any of those Kenyans dare challenge you on Pike's Peak? U da man!!!!
SJDSupaFan1154: That still buttered my bread!
SpeedyGirl6000: OMG! I saw you at mile 10 in Brooklyn!!! Did you hear me cheering for you?
DeMoor'sArmy: Great running with you in Central Park day before the race with many DGR members! Buttah mah bread!!!
Newb53Runner: You should totally do CIM now since it is downhill and fast AF.
MonsignorMiles: You were probably the fastest non-druggie out there. Show them at the next Olympics, bro!
JogMommy45: You are still a champion in our hearts!!! Shout out to True Love!
Hi Seth! You'll probably finish behind at least 3 women in your age group. Try to keep up with Laura Thweatt?
Why does Let’s Run keep giving Seth free advertising? There’s no chance he’ll be top three American woman at NYC, but that’s okay, it’s just his dream goal. He’s a good dude spreading an awesome message. I hope he PRs and he has a great day! Thank you Let’s Run for the YouTube traffic to the DGR channel!

He said Top 3

You know, I’ve been a fan of SJD blogs since summer/fall 2018, back when he had something like 2,000 subscribers. His videos have always been great for watching on the treadmill, and I admired his work ethic and enthusiastic everyman personality.
In the past 6-9 months, however, something has really changed in his vlogs, although I can’t put my finger on exactly what it is. Ever since the channel blew up and he started the whole “DGR paid members blah blah” thing, Seth has seemed to have gotten a bit egotistical and robotic, not to mention how dismissive he is of his wife.
I don’t know, something about the channel rubs me the wrong way these days, and I’m not sure if I’ll be cheering for him at NYC as hard as I did in 2019.

I agree most of your post, but I can't really see what you mention about how dismissive he is of his wife... I just see two people that love each other... What am I missing???

I haven't watched the video yet, but I think Seth is a 2:17:00 guy based on what he showed in Amsterdam
Totally agree - I used to watch his vlogs every morning from middle of 2019 until earlier this year and have completely forgotten about them. It feels like they became extremely repetitive, he started to view himself as a motivator and felt preachy about using his approach to life as a template. Good for him that he found a way to make his running dream a reality and support his family based off of it, but I definitely feel he has strayed from what made his channel successful originally and won't be as actively cheering for him similar to you.
It't too early for the unofficial Seth Demoor NYC 'Thon Predictin contest thread to get posted. I'll need to see what the weather will be like and consider other important factors that may have an impact on the times.
Such intangibles as the picture of Pope John Paul II in Seth's new home.

I also think that (and it's one of the things Seth could improve on) Seth has less knowledge of the American road racing scene than the average LRCer. For example, past videos have revealed only a passing familiarity with Tyler McCandless and Noah Droddy.
My hunch is that Seth saw one year that a 2:17:00 was good enough for third American and thinks that is how it always is.
Seth should most definitely make top 3 in his age group -- based on the 2019 results he only needs to around 2:30. His 2019 result (2:24:01) was not too bad. His first half split was 1:11:24, so a small bit of fade in the final miles.
No way he comes close to top 3 American: the third place American in 2019 ran 2:12.

Sorry, I should have caveated that! It’s just that, anytime she’s speaking, he looks like he can’t wait for her to finish, or talks over / corrects her. It’s kind of cringy to watch.

Did you ever apologize to Seth for your false accusations?
Ya WTF... completely incorrect thread title with a bunch of pricks piling on. Seems like a perfectly reasonable goal for him to be a top 3 age grouper. Seems like an alright dude. What did he ever do to any of you?
