It's always the drug addicts who think there's no such thing as control. For instance, I have a drink about once a month at a restaurant with my meal. News flash, drug addicts, it's possible to be disciplined and in control of your body. Just because drug addicts have psychological issues that make them prone to being an addict chasing some feeling they'll never find in drugs/alcohol, doesn't mean we are all like that.
Anyways, good for him for being in recovery. But it's always laughable when addicts generalize the entire population as the same as them.
I've been a 3-4 beer/week drinker for like 15 years now. I did recently quit, but it was purely to cut out the extra calories in an attempt to lose those last 10lbs.
What really irks me most is when former addicts/junkies want massive respect for quitting and then they start grandstanding and acting like authorities. Why don't I get props for my self-control? I rarely drank more than 3-4 beers a week, never did drugs, smoked maybe 3 cigarettes in my whole life... fonking weaklings.

Yeah, that's just who I need to get fired up about life. Some idiot who can't hold his mud.
I don't think runners should drink alcohol, and I'm not here to defend alcohol - just here to say you need to pick better role models. The guy's a recovering addict. It''s pretty obvious that an addict is going to tell you drugs/alcohol are bad, because it was bad for them due to their inability to control their behavior. He doesn't even get his facts right - beer is not just barley and water. If you are going to AA etc. and are recovering from addiction, fine, listen to addicts tell their story and how they did it, but other than that, picking addicts as role models is just a bad move. Do better. Plenty of non-addicts will be able to explain to you why alcohol is bad for you without the bias of being a weak f'd up person with personal demons related to their addiction issues.

I hate the way they act and look down on people like they’re the boss now.
But real addicts have been through some $hit and getting clean can be the biggest achievement of their lives.
You don’t deserve a medal. It’s amazing you don’t crave alcohol and have it built into your DNA but you haven’t overcome anything.
I refuse to listen to Jordan Peterson because judging from the people who like him, he's some special kind of stupid.
Professor of WHAT?
People who disparage addicts seem to think that behaviours are governed by some magic spark or supernatural thing inside their heads. Sad!
Adverse childhood experiences usually lead to addiction later down the line. Anyways, I'll drink to this thread, baby. Howler Head whiskey is my preference.
He literally just says things.
"Clean your room" - His house is a mess
"Be Logical" - He believes in Jungian Psychology
"Shoulders back, bucko" - He has terrible posture.
"Get your life together" - Addicted to Benzos
Peterson was a professor at a Canadian university and he got fired for going against the liberal cirriculum/narrative. The Liberals want to indoctrinate the children through the schools from a young age.
Part of that compilation is taken from this interview with Danica Patrick.
They cover a lot of topics.
He recommends benzos instead!

I like a lot of what Jordan says but you are not wrong. I am waiting for "Learn to speak properly and deeply from your diaphragm!" in a Kermit voice.
I dropped out of university and I don't drink alcohol by choice. I've never had a problem with it on the occasions I did drink. I've watched some of Peterson's stuff. I think he's bright enough but I'm not going to waste 10 minutes listening to what I know to be common sense: Everything in moderation.
