ok seriously i have to know if 5 workouts a week is normal. i know it’s probably not. but please give your input on this training schedule that we did this week. this week was a little different because one day was cancelled and we don’t have a race this saturday but it’s otherwise representative of what we’ve been doing all season.
monday - 3 mile repeats w/ 400m easy in between, no drinking water unless you want to get called weak
tuesday - technically supposed to be our easy day but got told to do 5 miles hard 😐😐
wednesday - cancelled but told to do a 40 minute tempo run? what?
thursday - 1 fast mile, plus 6x600. the 600s were up a sizable hill to start about the first 150-200m. 600s at 5k race pace or faster
friday - practice not officially held but told to do more mile repeats
saturday - no race so told to do 45 minute tempo
i could say a lot more about coaching style in general but we’ll ignore that for now 😐
