Been in a pattern where I can't get to sleep for a while now.

Me...too, but my sleeplessness is because of chronic gas pains. 😷
I cut out using screens in the hour or two leading up to bedtime and it really helped, also this didn’t apply to me because I don’t drink alcohol but if you do try cut that out because it severely interrupts sleep in the second half of the night.
Also for me reading a book helps because I am thinking about the book rather than a million random things.
Ya always been lacking sleep
Bout 8 hours in 3 days right now mainly alcohol related
One thing that helps me is doing more runs earlier in the day and not many in the afternoon or evening.

Nope, out like a light every night at 9:30 and up without any issue at 4:45 every morning.
Reset your circadian clock if you have trouble sleeping at night.
I'd have trouble sleeping too if I had kicked a family dog in the head until he developed seizures and had to be put down.
Get a job where you have to be up early in the morning and you'll start sleeping better.
You don't need a lot of rest when playing the piano and posting on Lets Run are your only activities.
Greg,
Are you still eating too much sugar before bed? That can have the same effect as alcohol causing you to sleep poorly and wake up without falling back to sleep.

What he lacks in size he makes up for with his large welfare check.
I've been an incel now for 6 yrs after the passing of my wife in 2015. I was married for 19 yrs & always had my lovely wife next to me - slept like a baby night after night! 😌
Now the bed is so empty without her that I can't get a decent night's sleep if my life depended on it. It took me 3+ years to recover my wife's passing to the point where I was ready to date and maybe get involved in a LTR with a nice woman. Ha...dozens & dozens rejections from attractive fit women to not so attractive women that are overweight/obese. As fit, muscular (but old) middle-aged incel my sexual market value & attractiveness just isn't there like it was when I was a younger man & met my wife. Even women my age, who I think I'm in their league, want younger, sexier, flashier guys to wine & dine them. 🙁
So, every night I lay in bed with insomnia wondering how can I go through life as an incel.
I’ll date you, where do you live?
Haven't had a good night sleep since Squeaky Fromme was paroled in 2009. The anxiety of knowing there's another nutjob loose on the streets keeps me up at night. Add to that all the elevated levels of societal woes bombarded into our skulls on a constant basis doesn't make Mr. Sandman happy. Also, worrying about the poor Canadian taxpayers who spend inordinate amount of their hard earned dollars paying for fully capable members of socitey to lounge around all day on the internet off the Public Dole lowers my melatonin levels. Just imagine if all that wasted money could be directed toward important and pressing concerns such as dealing with the growing number of moose attacks on humans.
Trouble sleeping?! Are you kidding me? A full day at work, volunteer T & F coach, 8 -10 mile run, and a homemade dinner.......ZZZZZ, sleep like a baby. Do something Greg. Anything!! Work. Volunteer. Run. Problem(s) solved!
Maybe you should try this product. ;)
Nah, having a productive work day and full family life ensures I always sleep well.

Yep, you have. And it's called a holding pattern.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
