Unfortunately, as pretty much the entire history of human society suggests, not sexualizing women is a lot harder than it looks for some reason.

That said, any history book worth its while on the classic period will tell you that long before the city of Athens adapted to permitting its women for physical education and athletic contests, the Athenian scribes went nuts at the sight of ripped Spartiate women. The idea was that strong Spartiate men with strong Spartiate women would produce strong Spartiate children.
While we are at it:
Spartiate - men and women who were selected for the agoge or central military academy; the social elite
Spartan - an all encapsulating term for members of the city of Sparta including full citizens, the perioeci, helots and slaves.
Spartan is too general a term and perhaps even historically inaccurate depending how you argue. Moral of the story: make fun of schools with a Spartan mascot. They are admittedly of an inferior intellect.
It's not very hard. In fact it's very easy. Unless you are say a 18 year old straight male then it might be rock hard. 🤔
I've never sexualised women in track kit, leotards etc. at all. Not intentionally, it just isn't a sexy look at all imo, including the photo above. What I see is athletes. Am I in a minority in this?
I didn't read the article but I think it's about time we brought back bun huggers.

It was inevitable that you’d be preoccupied with thinking about that.
You’re an odd creep.
Yes, because nobody in the media sexualized the male shirtless flag bearer from Tonga.

Preoccupied with what? 🤔 Young straight girls with raging hormones would sexualize a guy running shirtless in short shorts. Young straight men would probably sexualize a female in a sports bra. 🤷♂️
It's fun to watch T&F finishes, when the woman fall all over the track. The camerapeople go to great lengths any more to only show people from basically the neck up.
if youre sexually attracated to women youre gonna sexualise them. simple as
Every athlete ever is sexualized to some degree. The more skin you show, the more you're going to be sexualized, male or female. Athletes typically have very sexually attractive bodies, so it is natural and normal that others will look at them partially in the context of sex appeal. We are attracted to physically fit bodies because it's an indicator of good genes. Not sure why any of this needs explaining...

It's fine that it doesn't, but I think you're going to be in the minority. Seeing attractive women in revealing clothing is generally going to elicit a sexual response in straight men and lesbians. Nothing wrong with that, our sexual urges are outside of our control, but don't make it weird.
Hot take - but why do we as a society condemn sexualization so much? Sex is human. It is one of the most basic human functions. Why has it become so taboo? What's wrong with being sexual?

What's sad is that I can't tell if you are a modern feminist or devout Christian fundamentalist.
Its hard not to sexualize athletes in general. Although people are reluctant to admit it in an age of wokeness, sex is fundamentally about physical attraction, and with respect to the propagation of the human species, the sexual attraction between biological males and females. Part of this attraction to ensure successful propagation and survival of offspring is to seek a physically fit partner. So naturally, most people would find physically fit athletes sexually attractive.
People sexualize themselves by dressing certain ways. This should not be deemed the fault of the observer. It's the decision and fault of the person in the lack of/scantily clad/revealing clothing. If I was to go outside without a shirt on, many people would look at my bare chest. It ain't rocket science. With women, they know that men are driven by testosterone and attracted to a hot piece of meat. So because women generally like men, they want to appeal to them.
Lastly, there are too many victims in society and people with an automatic victim complex. The easiest target is the white man because no one feels bad when they're attacked. The media enables and perpetuates this division that the govt and media want. We need to stop seeing the skin color and start embracing each others' differences.
Yes everyone knows that. It really comes down to judging people. Most people go through life judging everyone around them, male or female and looks/sexualization is part of that.
