Please go and look at BYU’s results at the Florida State open and please explain how BYU is better than NC St and they had a 55 second gap between 1and 5.?!?!?! The burden is on you! NC state would have blown them out if they were at that meet

Wow……Stanford men have 4 people that are not freshmen entered.
Stanford men had 4 freshmen and a junior in the top 11 in the FSU XC Open.
fwiw Orton just posed a video of her doing a piece of a workout (by herself) on Instagram in Madison.
Will be good to see how Wisconsin does. They had a Canadian runner who did well at BIG 10 X last season.
Dude you keep going on and on about Steelman running faster at their first meet. But you missed the basic point that that was beginning of September and Nationals last year was in the Spring... she was running much better in the spring than she was in the fall
And if Touhy and Steelman are running so great why did they finish outside the top five at talent pool with about a quarter of what they'll face at Nationals
FinishING 8th at piane doesnt equal top 10 at nats.....
Anyway I'm basing my assumptions on the fact that BYU will be about as good as they were last year, if some of their Runners are injured or not in the same kind of shape they were , then that's a different story. I don't see chmiel, Steelman and 2we being much better, and I think they might actually score slightly lower or be about the same combined... 4 and 5 for nc state is the big???... I haven't seen 70 points better,,, yes better maybe 30 or 40, but 70... idn.... haven't seen it yet...
Please don't mention Steelman at Adidas anymore, she ran an OK time at an easy 5k course, she ran 20 sec slower than tuohy in hs, it was no epic performance, 40 sec off course record
A decision was made a day or two ago to have eight runners in the championship race. It won't change the dynamics much but it will allow a few more runners to get experience in a race that is only exceeded by the NCAA meet.
We will find out in November. Lot can change, race to race, day to day, and no one is training to peak in early October. If everyone is healthy I'd say Tuohy will be better (top 15 or above) and Clairmonte will be better. That just leaves the fifth spot. The SME will still be very tough.
I think other guys have Kiptoo's number. I assume that at least Cooper Teare can beat Kiptoo.
I'd say 1. Teare 2. Beninfield 3. Kiptoo 4. Olin Hacker, Wicsconsin, 5. Thomas Pollard, UNC 6. James Mwaura, Gonzaga 7. Thomas Pollard, Iowa State 8. Isaac Green, Washington 9. Kieran Lumb, Washington, 10. Alec Bastien, Minnesota 11. Charles Hicks, Stanford 12. Yacine Guermali, Gonzaga 13. Iowa State's 3rd 14. Thibeiu Proctor, Washington 15. Joe Dragon, Syracuse 16. Cole Sprout, Stanford 17. Ky Robinson, Stanford 18. Barry Keane, Butler 19. Iowa State's Number 4 20. ....
Morgan Beadlescomb isn't listed as far as I saw
Do anyone know what's going on with the BYU women's, are they injury free and really motivated to repeat? It will really only be about 8 months from when they won and I remember a lot of them doing really good at outdoor Nationals. And the fact that they don't drink or smoke, would get rid of a major reason why some athletes probably come back to school not in shape. Anyway I haven't heard much from their supporters

Assuming Teare can beat Kiptoo is a very bad assumption. At 1500, but not at 8k.

Tough to tell BYU's is a pretty close-knit group. But you know what else is interesting. BYU is counting on five runners and each of those five Runners knows exactly what they have to do. And they pretty much know that if those five runners are reasonably close to last year then they're probably going to win it. But NC state has like 10 Runners that could potentially contribute. In some ways it's better for BYU because each of their Runners has to step up and stay focused while NC State might have some of that Runners feel like someone else will just do it and maybe they don't have quite the same Focus. Anyway just a thought. I think both teams could easily win if things go just right for them
Where is Syracuse running? They’re listed on the heat sheets for both Nuttycombe and Penn State.
Halladay and Weaver for BYU both have looked talented enough early on to score in BYU’s top 5, so they have more than just 5 that could help them win. Camp hasn’t looked as sharp in the early season meets though, and they will really need her to get back to her top form. So tomorrow, look to see how those three do as an indication of how their team is shaping up.
You are missing my point and your not making your’s very well and avoiding the heart of the matter. Steelman is not the heart of my point, and I’m not talking about Adidas. I’m talking about their teams 1 and 5 eighteen sec gap at ND. I don’t care if it is Steelman or someone else, if their top runner at Nationals is in the top 10 and their 5 th is 18 seconds back. I don’t see them losing, especially if Dominique does not fall hard like she did at ND. Their gap could be less than 18 seconds. BYU has a 55 second gap between 1 and 5…… that is not good
Last point. You keep assuming BYU is better and somehow NC State got worst and that 70 points can’t be found? Look at the National results from last year. There was a 31 sec gap between BYU’s 1-5 and a 75 second gap between the Pack’s 1-5. It’s just simple math! Right now as stated before, State has a 18 second gap between 1-5 and BYU has 55 seconds. Based on the data right now, you really can’t see how NC State is better and BYU is not? And that their is way more than 70 points made up by the Wolfpack! Come on dude, you asked the question and I have given you tons of data!!!!!
In your defense, things could change between now and NCAA and everyone knows strange things can happen race day, but please just admit that NC State can easily make up 70 points???? The data clearly shows it. And please don’t get me wrong , It is going to be one hell of a battle between the two teams. If someone’s 4 th or 5th slips and has a bad day, The other team is in trouble. I just believe 4 th and 5 th runners decide team wins. Both teams have great 1-3, but differently than last year, the data shows NC state has way better 4-5 than BYU right now.
We will see today if anything has changed?
I hear you bro but you got to remember these are relatively easy 5K courses. Nationals will be run at a much tougher a 6K course. I really have no idea if b y u is going to be as good as last year but I'm just assuming based on the fact that was only eight months ago and several of the runners looked awesome at outdoor Nationals
That's all I'm basing it on maybe something happened and one of their top five is way off then brand new ballgame
But last year BYU had almost all five run as all Americans. Right now I think NC State's four is going to be about 45 and the 5 is going to be. 60. that could improve a lot though
I'm pickin nc state and tuohy for the win today... but byu might be letting them get over confident...
Was it coincidence that Dudek started Nationals right on tooey's heels? Will we see same tactic again.... Dudeck is a tough kid, you'd be too growing up with Russian tanks streaming through your streets, and ukranian refugees knock in at your door... will nc state's muscle Latour and Hays move in and give tuohy some breathing room... will be some tense moments early on... hopefully they hug it out afterwards Entourage style and squash any bad blood. But tuohy s got to watch out 4 Dudeck kick... or maybe she'll beat her by half the field like at nats, who knows?

When it’s all said and done Dudek will be a better college runner than Tuohy. I’m not sure what kind of shape Dudek is in but Dudek has a much higher ceiling than Tuohy. They were equals at the end of HS. But Tuohy trained in HS just like a college Sr, but Dudek was much lower mileage. The college load has been no different for Tuohy, but for runners like Dudek and Starliper the college load will take them a little more time. Which is why they both got hurt. But by JR and SR year, both will out perform Tuohy. Dudek and Starliper are more talented, Tuohy just did so much more than them in HS,
I’m not sure what we will see from NC State or BYU…… rumor has it that both will not run everyone that will be in their top 7 today.
Seems to me all the top runners ran the same mileage in high school. But sure.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
