Hello Stewy ! Is lactate threshold an important factor in your training in similar way as the Ingebrigtsens?
Did you ever consider running for a university in the USA
What does your strength training regime look like?
Any plans to incorporate any Olympic style lifts in the future?
How does laundry work?
Do you have to pay for the room?
Do you have access to Uber Eats or similar?
Stewy, the cold truth at the heart of elite success is that glory ain't cheap. Can you describe the mental, physical, emotional, relational price you are you paying for your athletics glory?
Stewy, with all the respect in the world, you were never an amazing junior - there were a ton of people in your age group who were beating you consistently right up until U20’s.
With that in mind, what is it about you that saw you get into Nic Bideau’s squad without any real impressive results? How did the conversation to train with him and MTC begin?
McSweyn is the Oceanic Record holder at 1500, mile and 3000m. Does he believe he’s got an Oceanic Record 5,000 in him (Craig Mottram, 12:55)? And if so, why does he think a super fast 5k hasn’t come together for him yet—including finishing well out of it in the Florence DL? (not to be negative or anything.)
And for that matter, does he have any interest in chasing Rob de Castella’s Oceanic AR of 2:07:51 years down the line?
Any plans to change race tactics? You raced a lot this year (which I love, need more of that) and came away with three wins. This was no doubt a great season, but none of your wins came against the top few 1500m runners and not in major championships. Is the strategy that if you go out in the lead enough times, it will stick? Is it as simple as the faster the pace, the better it is for you to place in the top 3?
In some DL events this year, the pace lagged when the rabbit stepped off, leaving you more vulnerable at the very front. Do you think that you would have a good chance of winning in a race that targets the WR and stays hot on the third lap? In other words, you have lost in a lot of 3:28.X-3:32 races, but would you like your odds if the pacers stayed on longer and set up a 3:28.0 or lower time trial race?
Or do you have plans to work more on top end speed in training, with the hope of winning more championship style races next year?

He seemed like a very good but not top tier runner when younger, who has gradually improved each year.
Now he is top tier, but still seems more focused on improvement than winning races. (which I like and admire him for- his racing style seems to be to go for a personal best in every race)
Ask him if his primary goal is improvement, or does he/will he change things to perhaps try to change anything to try to win races?
Given the choice, would he rather win or set a new personal best?
Note that he obviously wins races, and his admirable style of racing keeps the pace honest and ensures he regularly beats lots of world class runners who do not/can not handle the paces he sets. And if he keeps improving he will win everything.
Does he think that more speedwork (higher end speedwork) might cap off his distance work and result in a breakthrough in his finishing speed in races? I would assume that he is capable of running low 12:50s at least for a 5000m with that 7:28 3k, but it just hasn't happened yet for some reason.

Following up on this -- was the 5k more a result of a hard training block? What does he think he could have run in top 1500m form over 5000 this year?
Will he continue to focus on the 1500m over the next few seasons? When does he anticipate moving up, if ever, to the 5000m?
Finally, Brisbane 2032... Marathon possibility?
Ask him if he wishes he was in Florida.
Excellent interview, go watch the vod if you missed the livestream

Wow that was a great interview! Well done!
