They increased the drop, upper feels looser, laces too long and stiff, midsole seems firmer (not bad firm, but the Freedom has always been on the slightly softer side).

yes they are totally different shoes. The freedom 4 is more of a lifestyle/gym shoe that you can use for running and the 3 is a versatile low drop trainer that is lightweight but feels nice at easy paces too.
