One thing I feared happened last year. I developed two chronic issues with my forefoot in the area of the 1st metatarsal. The orthopedic surgeon who took x-ray advised that I switch to Hoka shoes since they flex little. The good news is that the pain is greatly reduced allowing me to train for the Boston Marathon. The bad news is I have many new adidas Supernova, Solar Glide, and Boston 6, 7, 8 version 1 size 13 shoes all with the Boost mid-sole--no LightStrike. I may never be able to wear them. I got them all at clearance prices. Any suggestions on how I may try to sell them?
If they were size 11.5 I would take them. 🙂
That's interesting. I've been running in Bostons, Supernova, and Solar glide for the past 6 years. I just got a pair of Adios 6, because they seem to be the closest thing to old Bostons and look and have similar dimensions to a Boston 8, the one thing that seems the most different is how rigid the sole of the Adios 6 is. You might like the new Adios.
I've done 2 runs so far in the new Adios, a easy 5 miles with strides and a 20 mile long run. The Adios feel pretty good, but my one complaint is the the sole is fairly rigid. The ride is not harsh at all, but it's definitely a firmer shoe. One thing I found a bit annoying is how loud it is. It's like I'm running in tap shoes.
