I've been running almost solely in Adidas Bostons since the 3s. The 6s/7s were the best, in my opinion. 8 was rough, 9 was okay, and well, they jumped the shark with the 10s. Has any long-time Boston wearers had success switching to a similarly light, stiff, responsive everyday shoe? Would love to hear if you did. For now, I'll be hoarding the 7s I can find on eBay.
The adios are now the Boston’s. Still not as good as the 7s though.
Base model Atreyus. Half the price, but expect only about a quarter to half of the mileage of Boston 6/7. Kinvaras are another good option. Both are lower drop than Bostons though.
I'd probably look into the Adizero RC 3.0 and the SL20.2 in Adidas.
In other brands, maybe the Asics DS Trainer 26 (or previous versions). The Kinvara has a more cushioned and laid back feel although it's a deceptively fast shoe. I'd look into the Reebok Run Fast 3, as well, and the Mizuno Wave Shadow 4 or Wave Aero 19. And, if you can get them, the NB 890v7, although not as nimble as the Boston, offer similar versatility.
I think the closest of the lot is the DS Trainer.

Spec numbers aren't everything, but:
Boston 9: 8.3 oz and 16-26mm
Adios 6: 8.1 and 19-27mm
are both pretty similar

Every time I open the adidas website or runningwarehouse to see the new shoes I have to close the page in rage, who in their right mind wants to run in those monstrosities.
Boston 6 and 7 was near perfect, everything starting going wtf after that.
Adios started going to hell too with v4, there was no more lockdown like the v3.
I want the amazing lockdown of the 7 and the low-profile tpu.
Any chance since adidas owns reebok and licenses the tpu to them, any one of their shoes is a close copy?
Do the newest floatrides have any lockdown like the boston?
Somewhere out there in some rural mom-and-pop running shop, someone still has some Boston 7s left in the stockroom. And I wish I could find them. I bought a dozen but wish I had bought ten dozen, all used up.

Skechers has a lot that remind me somewhat of Bostons. The Speed Freek, for one.
But yes, Atreyu's Base Model is a diamond in the rough.

The Adios 3's were my favorite shoe I've ever worn and was so dissapointed by the 4, but felt the 5 was a slight improvment over the 4. I guess I'm alone on that, but still wish there was something close to what the 3 was.

I feel the same way about my Saucony Grid Cohesions (5-8 were the best).
I've also switched to the Brooks Ghost series, as they are wider. Why fix it if it's not broke? (Any shoe manufacturer).
The Adios 6 feels like the shoe the Boston 10 should have been.

Reebok just been sold to a lifestyle brand (don't remember it's name). Been ok-ish till it lasted...
I have the boston 9's right now. The adizero pros beat up my legs with no cushioning. I wish I could unwear them

Agree, except for the assertion that Boston 10 is necessarily better. There are certainly better options than either the old or new Bostons, like the aforementioned Skechers Razor, Brooks Hyperion Tempo, Asics Magic Speed, Saucony Freedom or Kinvara or Endorphin Speed, New Balance Rebel v2.
