I got this pair of Sketchers Gomeb speed 4 running/racing shoes almost two years ago for cheap not knowing anything about them. Along the way, I realized that they are my all-time favorite running shoes. The problem is that they were made for racing and as a result, they do not have a very durable sole. The upper is a fabric knit material that is very durable and still looks untouched.
I am looking for recommendations to save the sole. The thin rubber is wearing off and I've already started wearing down the foam on the mid-foot area of the sole. Is there a recommended rubber liner that I can install at the bottom to get more life out of the shoe, at least until the upper wears? I understand it might change the character of the shoe, but even if I get to use it as an everyday shoe and not for running, I am fine with that. Preferably, a liner made for running shoes.
