And you know the Lord wants it Kenya even though he's not allowed to play favourites:
"I think Kenya is capable of hosting a World Championship; Africa is capable of hosting a World Championship, but that's not the same as saying they will," he observed.
"As President of World Athletics I don't vote so as to remain neutral but I have my 27 Council colleagues and a bid oversight committee that will make evaluations on all bids that may or may not come to the table," he noted.
I like it. Other than strict officiating the world juniors and world youths went well enough. Plus they have a lot more field and sprint athletes in recent years, could have a solid chance to win the medal table like in 2015.

And you'll still hate Lord Coe when most others would have banned Kenya several years ago instead of giving them a chance to get their house in order and reward them with major championships.
To be fair, probably most real Kenyans love Coe and what he's done for their country.

russia were banned for STATE sponsered doping tey were banned because the government were involved the kenyan government is not involved in doping in kenya
I'm hoping something similar for Morocco. Maybe the next U20 World Championship.
If the Senior World Championship are organized in Africa, the African pressure and impact in the worldwide athletics will be more obvious.

Interesting that only a country which has had state-sponsored doping has had more athletes banned than Kenya. It seems the government doesn't need to be involved for athletes to juice to the gills.

When Morocco held the world xc championship around year 2000, they didn't give the Israeli participants visas to Morocco, so they were unable to run!
I've been laid up after an ACL tear and unfortunately watch the U20 Worlds in Nairobi. Without a doubt that was the most unorganized, unprofessional and understaffed meet I have ever seen. The whole setup reminded me of a small outdoor track invitational in sometown in Tennessee.
Please don't give them the worlds

Palestinians weren't there either
Not a big fan of world championship meets being held at altitude (or even national ones if most of the country is sea level). Provides a nice advantage to countries that either have a large pop that already lives there or is rich enough that their athletes can train there easily. Also puts a nice bias on sprint marks - wind is bad enough but throw in altitude and its really difficult to understand if a mark is truly superior. Most of the world population lives at sea level or near and I think that's where the big meets should be.
Also why in the first picture are the athletes wearing their pajamas?

How about dopers are doping, more than in a lot of other countries? Like Russia, Kenya has no credibility when it comes to representing clean sport. You don't need state sponsorship of doping for it to be endemic.
bring it on

I dont remember that but there were full relationship between Morocco and Israel the whole time. It is going to be more and more advanced relationship in the next months with exchange of ambassadors. There will be Elections in Morocco in 8 September and it's pretty sure that's the Amazigh Akhannouch is going to get. He is in the far right (not Islamic) side. So expect what is going to happens.

"These principles require that all athletes must be allowed to compete regardless of race, religion, ideology or country of origin."
Strange, as Morocco seems to be a tolerant country with a good blend of all peoples, even with a fair jewish population and also some christians. And they seem to live peacefully side by side.

That may be true and is arguably a higher form of social cohesion than the niche concern that all their elite athletes sh*(^ing on the endurance events by cheating, but it does still seem that all their elite athletes sh*(^ on the endurance events by cheating
