Homologous transfusion. Another blood bag mixup?
So he won’t be running Chicago?

This is the 2nd homologous transfusion positive from Bahrain around Tokyo - the first being Mikhou. Never mind the cheating, as this is a concerning health trend; and hope that WA looks deeper into this for the alarming potential death risk alone.
Oddly, they are both Moroccan born- El Bassarri
changing allegiance to Bahrain in 2013 and Mikhou in 2015.
I like how when I saw this thread, right underneath it was the thread asking "Is the sport cleaner than ever now"

El Abbasi and Sikhou accidently mixed up eachother's blood bags? Or is there another 2 bahraini runners with another one's blood who has not been caught??

Wouldn’t that be a taste of irony.
Passant will be here to tell us he has nothing to do with Morocco, even though he posted an image of the Tokyo marathon results with this guy's name highlighted in marker pen.
Homologous transfusions have been detectable for a long time, as that was what Tyler Hamilton was popped for in the 2004 Olympics. It would be strange if the Bahrainis did not know it - unless they just picked the wrong shady doctor for their citius-altius-fortius project.
Jacob Riley up to number 28. Let's keep this train rolling.

I think 'oddly' is not the right word choice. 'Totally as expected' might come closer.

Wonder if he will try the vanishing twin/chimera defense?

They totally mixed up their bags. It was just a question of who the second athlete was when the first one popped.
Be only a matter of time before this obvious cheater would be caught. One more down, great!

So if no one gets busted it is clean but if people do get busted then it isn't. I think the testing to clean-up the sport. But if n one was ever caught I think that might be more of a problem.

The most logical explanation is that El Abbasi & Mikhou had a blood bag mix up with each other. Mikhou has been popped before and served a ban for an ABP-hematological anomalies case. So, he knows the game and wouldn't be that stupid to use someone else's blood before the Olympics.
Here's some interesting stuff on El Abbasi:
https://athleticsillustrated.com/kenyan-kuwaiti-and-bahraini-athletes-popped-for-doping-wednesday-and-thursday/El Hassan El Abbassi of Bahrain has been put on notice for blood doping. What is old is new again? Maybe not. Blood doping was once legal.
"In 2018, El Abbassi set the national and area records during the Valencia Marathon with his run of 2:04:43, which is his best performance of all distances that he has run. He finished second in that race. The performance set off alarm bells. The 37-year-old (34 at the time) also ran a lifetime best in the half-marathon with his 59:27 performance; same year, same city."
"El Abbassi finished seventh in the 2019 Doha World Athletics Championships marathon. It appears that until 2018, his bests over most distances gave him points performance ratings of 1140 to 1186. His half-marathon and marathon are worth 1216 and 1258, respectively."
