Sorry, but he did no such thing. Eliud was taking off soon regardless. This happens all the time in running.

The GOAT shirt is pretty cool. My wife was what? Had to splain.
You splain to her how you missed out on bitcoin?
Watching closely, both Kipchoge and Rupp smiled at whatever Kipchoge said. I am hoping he turned to Rupp and said, "Well, I'm going to go now. Care to join me?" If I was Rupp, that would have taken the wind outta my sails, too.
BTW, eighth in the Olympic Marathon is pretty great. Y'all need to get over the Rupp-hate thing. It's getting really old and is sucking at your souls.

Of course he pissed off Eliud. Galen is not an alpha male. Eliud is superior to Galen and Galen folded like a cheap tent. Why must you take my name? So much jealousy from you.
Kipchoge said, and I quote, "I'm a gonna be waiting around at the finish line for you"

No, he wasn't pissed. Just a bit concerned and was letting him know. You guys exaggerate way to much.
Kara kept saying that Rupp irritated Kipchoge, but it did look to me that Kipchoge smirked as well. He also was chatting with the lead group in Rio, right before he took off.
Based on both Rupp and Kipchoge smirking, something like this seems the most likely.

Actually just made sense Rupp would fade being that he's 50 pounds heavier than kipchoge and teeny weight is crucial in the humid conditions
50 lbs? Try 15-20
Galen is thinner.

I am sure he just said Remember Rio?
They really need a way to give the runners pace(and in mins/mile not mph) so we can see Rupp is still running 5 min miles still and just can't drop down to 435.

Ah, no. It was very obvious that Kipchoge was angry at Rupp.
Then Rupp made a cocky little smirk to try to pretend like he wasn't scared.

Have you ever tried collapsing a cheap tent? A lot harder than an “elite” tent.
No runners are alpha. That is why they run.
Doesn't this remind you of Rio 2016 Men's marathon? When F. Lelisa kept following Kipchoge and he wasn't happy, he just took off. Seems like similar to Galep Rupp. But 2016 was later in the race.
I have. The difficulty of collapsing a cheap and "elite" tent is about the same. Usually the difference is mainly that the cheap tent is heavier. You should try camping some time. It would help with you analogies.
Reminded me of the exchange between Meb and Rupp at the Trials in 2016. Even the gesture was the same from Meb and Kipchoge, pointing to the road. Either take the lead or get off my back. And they're both seen as even-keeled guys.
Still, I was rooting for Rupp to medal cause he was working so hard. Maybe more for Osako and that Netherlands guy though. Rupp looked so drenched at the end, with all the work going into soaked hats and iced bags and Kipchoge didn't even look wet.

Osako had one of the strongest, and toughest, races out there, imho. So many km in that no man's land in sixth, 15-20 seconds back of the chase pack/podium, just unable to close that gap. I felt for him, and thought that he ran really strong.
Like someone said just stop the hate towards rupp. I used to hate the guy but on these olympics i wished we had him fighting for a medal at the 5k or 10k or the marathon. Why the hate? I bet if we had him standing in our face we wouldn't say anything to his face . Plus he may be weak, skinny and whatever you guy want to call him but he runs faster that all of us combined. We don't know if he cheated while being trained by salazar and if hed did .who gives a fook because every athlete is on drugs .
How do you run faster than all of us combined?
Bekele would have won this easily.

I think he was being figurative, but literally speaking: there could be a marathon relay team composed of several letsrun posters in this thread versus Galen Rupp, and Rupp would probably run faster over the distance.
