As far as running I think I had something similar happen a few years back. I would get very dizzy running. It only happened when I ran. Enough that I would have to sit down mid run. My gait felt different. I felt completely normal when not running. No dizziness ect. It lasted about a year then went away. It almost felt like I was a new runner. I had to figure out how to run. Really weird.
One place where I have gotten disoriented while running is on the treadmill. If I look off to the side and start to drift sideways I find that I lose my awareness and feel a loss of spatial awareness. Bringing my vision back to the clock display makes it go away but I am fairly certain that if I kept looking off to the side, I'd fly off the machine. This doesn't happen when I'm outside looking at something on the side of me.
