Eh, I wouldn’t count on it actually happening. Australia will probably still be in a COVID lockdown in 2032.

Nah, Australia is a safe bet.
Sydney got the Olympics looking good after the huge disaster in 1996. Guessing they probably think they might have to pick up the pieces again given where they're holding the 2028 games.
Imagine being a kid dreaming of the Olympics and finding out that you'll spend your life training to compete in a place like Brisbane?
What a joke. Brisbane is a total hole.
Would rather skip the games and keep training for a real Olympics like wherever 2036 will be held.

Oh mate you are too young to remember Sydney and have not spent enough time in other parts of the world. Brisbane will do just fine. Best of all Australia will now put some money back in sport.

I was at Sydney. Sydney was good. Brisbane on the other hand is Australia's response to West Virginia. You can build a nice stadium and script a great Opening Ceremony, but you can't polish a turd like Brisbane.

Well said since I'm from Virginia...Brisbane will be fine.
OG has obviously never traveled to any kind of championship meet. Your at the Olympics for crying out loud not on a tourist holiday. I’ve competed and coached all over the U.S. and it never mattered much where the national meet was. All focus, time and energy are on competing your best. Go visit cool places when you retire and can site see all u want. College teams are always making big deals about trips to Hawaii or wherever and then realize they are lucky to get one day at the beach. You are there to compete.

Imagine NBC's promotions: "Athing Mu and Joe Klecker are Brisbane Bound?" Yuck. Doesn't have the same ring to it.

Spot on, 2nd worst City in Australia, only ahead of Canberra.
Australia becomes just the second country to host the Olympics in 3 different cities

I love it when the people who are jealous of the United States post here. If LetsRun was around in 1930 people would be posting, "Thank God they gave the Olympics to Nazi Germany so Hitler can save the Games after the disastrous Games we will have in 1932."
NBC? The same ring? Seriously who gives a crap? It’s the Olympics. You’re killin me smalls.

Trollism has insecurity issues and hates his own country. I have never seen someone complain so much about their country, but...he still lives here? The Olympics in Atlanta were great! The "huge disaster" as he puts it could have happened anywhere at any Olympic City.
If the de Lima incident had happened in Atlanta instead of Athens, he'd be saying something like this could only happen in a U.S. hosted Olympics. He's a complainer and jealous of the U.S.A. I doubt he's married, but if he is, just pray for his lowly wife and what she has to live with on a day to day basis.

Just keep living in that "fantasy world" of your own mind, d$ckhead.
What's the Australian version of :
Why was the toothbrush invented in West Virginia?
Otherwise it would be called a "Teethbrush".
The Olympics won't exist at that point. Sorry, mates.

I am curious what made 1996 a "huge disaster"?
