Eagle Valley’s Samantha Blair (2:11/4:54m/10:59/17:09xc) has committed to NAU. Not just a distance runner, the kid is also a top 30 hurdler in her state which makes for an impressive range.

Lianna Surtz (IL) (2:19 / 4:55 / 10:53 / 16:35 3 mile) joins top recruits Ella Kurto and Karina James and commits to Toledo.
Two time Wisconsin state champion Lauren Pansegrau (4:54m/10:13/16:57xc) is headed to Ann Arbor to run for Michigan.
And speaking of Wisconsin... the great Roisin Willis has finally declared and she will be attending Stanford University. Not sure where to even begin with her accolades. National Gatorade Player of the Year to start with and three time Wisconsin State Gatorade Player of the Year. U.S. Olympic Trial semifinalist as a high school junior, Under-18 world record holder in the 800 and the fourth fastest high school girl in history. Shes the Wisconsin state record holder in the 1600 and she has the distinction of being the last high schooler to have beaten Athing Mu in an 800 (please feel free to fact check, Im not 100% sure of that). Her times:
200 Meters: 25.10
400 Meters: 52.64
800 Meters: 2:00.78
1600 Meters: 4:41.46
5000 Meter XC: 17:48
Not to mention her high school GPA of 4.0 So she'll fit right in at Stanford. Truly excited to see what this one has in store for us as a Cardinal. Does she last 4 years?
Lost in the Willis announcement were a couple other fairly significant signings:
Ithaca's Lani Bloom (58.1/2:13/4:48/10:28/17:09xc), 3 time Michigan state champion, is going to be running at Purdue and Illinois 3200 state champion Josephine Welin (2:18/4:42/10:03/16:33xc3m/17:25xc5k) is headed to Washington to run for the Huskies.
Anybody else?
yes...
Stella Vieth (58.3/2:15/5:00/17:36xc) from powerhouse Niwot is headed to Princeton.
Hopefully she produces more than caitlin collier
Looks like NC State is adding a top rated Kiwi to their running stable. New Zealander Hannah Grapes, National U20 women’s 5000m champion and 2021 New Zealand Junior Cross Country Championships winner is headed to Raleigh to join the Wolfpack. (4:26 1500/9:42 3K/16:47 5K)
Kayci Martensen (2:15/4:51m/10:40/17:28xc) is going to Iowa State. Martensen has won EIGHT state titles combined in track and cross country in her first three years of high school.

Allison Chmielewski (2:15/4:53/10:48/17:31) will stay in state to run for Michigan State.
Fun Fact: Chmiel and Chmielewski are related Polish surnames, the former referring to hops and the latter referring to being from the place of the hops. There must be something in that Polish beer.
Speaking of Chmiel, I heard today that Caroline Murrell of nearby Pittsboro will be joining Kelsey and all the ladies at NC State next year. Feel like they are bursting at the seams with running talent.
Also, three time Virginia state champion Kylie Cooper (57.0/2:09/4:58/18:36) is headed for Blacksburg to run for Virginia Tech.
Well Stanford has really outdone itself this year. In addition to Riley Stewart, Caroline Wells, Ava Parekh and Roisin Willis, the Cardinal just picked up Juliette Whittaker. So that’s two for two on Olympic semifinalists. And Im sure it didn’t hurt that Willis and Whittaker are best buddies and partners in crime although Im just a little surprised she chose to leave the east coast.
Whittaker brings an unprecedented range to Palo Alto as a national threat in every distance from the quarter to the 5K:
400 Meters: 54.91
800 Meters: 2:01.15
1000 Meter: 2:45.49
1500 Meters: 4:19.79
Mile: 4:38.65
3200 Meters: 10:23.14
5K XC: 17:16.00
what big names are left? Addy Wiley? Vanderkooi?
*Olympic TRIAL semifinalists I mean of course.
How did Stanford afford all of them? Are a ton of their current girls out after this year?
Also Whittaker was 13th(?) at Footlocker as a sophomore in 2019 so she will be a valuable asset in both XC and track. Her range is unreal

Perhaps many are getting a good sum of academic scholarship? They seem to have a good sized roster

Her range is absolutely insane. Although my guess is Stanford focuses her toward the 800/1500 and Willis more toward the 400/800. Wells and Stewart and Parakh will have more impact on the cross country course.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
