How about the Brooks Hyperion Tempo?
How about the Brooks Hyperion Tempo?
Hola!
Now that Reeebok running shoes are going the way of the dinosaur, anyone got a suggestion? The Pumas I tried (2 in this thread) were way too cushy, they got relegated to walking shoes.
Does anyone make a neutral shoe (definitely no stability gimmicks) with 8-ish heel drop, that's under 250g in weight? Plain, boring is what I'm after.
TIA!
Mentioned earlier, Hoka Rincon could be a decent option. Also Atreyu base model, even more stripped down than Rincon. And Kinvaras, natch.
NB Fuel Cell Rebel is another light one.
Thanks. Rincon and Kinvara (I went through many of the Ks for years) are too cushioned for me. Atreyu looks very interesting, but I can't find anywhere to get them here in the UK. Shall check out Fuel cell rebel.
If you can find UA in UK, you may consider the Flow Velociti Wind also (as long as you can find it discounted). I've heard it's a bit if a throwback, plus light and 8mm drop.
Try the On Cloudflow. Very reduced shoe, lightweight, not a lot of cushion at all. Might be worth your time.
You might like the Saucony Ride 14's. They're a little heavier than what you're looking for but don't feel like it. They're super comfortable yet firm. I feel they run a half size small. 8mm drop
This is filtered on your specs, except for weight. They don't carry every brand, but may at least give you something to work with.
If you like a firmer shoe, maybe one of the more training-oriented carbon plate shoes would work? I really liked the Mizuno Wave Rebellion when I tried it in store, didn't buy it because I still had a stockpile of Zoom Fly Flyknits (also a great shoe if you can still find 'em). Doesn't have the squishy foam that you get on a lot of the racing super shoes.
