Hi,
A few months back, I posted here and asked for advice for a replacement for the Puma Speed 300 Ignite (discontinued). The Puma was the best shoe I've ever had in 20 years of serious running. Totally neutral, no gimmicks. I always thought it was the shoe that the Kinvara could've been: less mushy and more responsive (I have a pair of K11 - way too spongy and alien in my opinion).
Since then, I've been through 2 pairs of Reebok Run Fast Floatride 2. However, this wasn't because I like the Reebok - but more because I couldn't find anything else that replaced the Puma. The Reebok is billed as a neutral shoe, but it has a high arch support. You can feel it pushing up against the arch (and I have unusually high one)s. Feels more like a support shoe to me. Shoes with arch support (restricts eversion) have hurt my knees before, and the Reebok have started to. I went back to (beaten up) Pumas, and knee pain went immediately.
Is there such a thing as a no-nonsense, gimmick-free, neutral shoe in 2021? I''ve just spent 2 hours looking, and the only 2 shoes I could find are out of stock everywhere. The Asics Evoride 2 fit the bill - apart from the rocker design, which I feel could accentuate the heel drop.
Thank you in advance!
