While it would be nice for the BTC to give up spots like a charity, I imagine they get paid more if they toe the line in both events.
I would like to see True esp go to Tokyo, but I don't think that's how the cookie will crumble.
how long before the races does BTC have to make the decision pull out of either the 5k or 10, if they decide to withdraw at all? can they pull out of the 5k the night before and then have teare race the next day? does that mean teare has to keep up with his training for the next 6 weeks?

Would like both Teare and a true to get a shot, selfish to run the double when none are likely to be medal contenders beyond Chelimo
Not trying to be an a$s here, but in what way is it selfish for athletes who earned their spot to claim it? Teare is an incredible talent and his development will be fun to watch but he came up short. I would have loved to see True on the team as much as the next guy but it is in no way selfish for Grant and Woody to double...they earned it.

Teare has a decent lick but lacks that last 100 meter gear.
He said in the interview he is aware of this and has "three more years to work on it."
For both Fisher and Kincaid, both relatively new to the world level, running both is invaluable experience, even if they aren't 100% on the second event.

Ugh.
Same deal for the women's 10k.
What makes you think Kincaid is doping? I have never actually heard of him, just curious.
by what indications is he "the most likely to be clean"? you teare/hocker fanboys are really quite annoying.
And you believe Shelby Houlihan is the only BTC athlete who is doping? When Jerry Schumacher said he had no idea what Nandrolone was? When they come up with a burrito excuse?

Only one bowerman gal made the 10k (Schweizer) so it’d have to be her.
He could just work on getting faster. Sub-12:50 is where the game is now, even 1500 guys who are fooling around with the 5k, like Ingebrigtsen, can run that. Time to hold US distance runners to global standards
What is the threshold that separates a "hobbyjogger" from a "sub-elite" runner?
BREAKING: Leonard Korir not going to Paris! 11 Universality athletes get in ahead of him!
Hicham El Guerrouj is back baby! Runs Community Mile in Oxford
Do "running influencers" harm the competitive nature of the sport?
What is the most stupid running advice you've ever heard?🤣(It can be funny)
