Teare has a decent lick but lacks that last 100 meter gear.
or gets popped for a burrito
Gutted for Cooper. He put together a great race but just couldn't hang with Chelimo or the burrito track club in that last 100. Not sure what else he could have done, tbh.

He says he got 47.8 speed in 400m, so it's time to think how to translate that into a nasty kick.
This type of race would've favored Cole Hocker for sure.
That 3:50 mile indoors didn't mean sh*t now did it?
I'd rather have them drop the 5k and let True in 10K.
That’s a lie. Slow feet, definitely can’t run sub-50.
Teare should protest Chelimo's tactics.
Not much you can do when the top 3 run sub-53 last laps. Great race by Teare regardless.

Well he got 4th in the damn Olympic Trials behind the Olympic Silver Medalist, a 12:58 guy and a 13:02 guy. Absolutely no dishonor in that.

He appeared to do the absolute best he could. He’s fast, but is there any training that he could have done that would have allowed him to out kick the three ahead of him today? Should he have tried to surge with 800 to go or longer? There may be a talent gap between Teare and Fisher that Teare will never close. Let’s see what happens over the next few years.
Not happening, unless he signs with BTC immediately
Would like both Teare and a true to get a shot, selfish to run the double when none are likely to be medal contenders beyond Chelimo
Hopefully Kincaid gets caught for doping (because he is) and True and Teare both get in.
Guessing Teare or True will get a pass. One of those guys will likely bail one event after that heat-fest.

Teare is still only 21 and Fisher is 24. Hopefully, Cooper can use this experience to help him figure out what he needs to do to get to the next level. It will be interesting to see where he goes after Oregon.
He is a smart tactical racer. And Rupp didn't have the greatest kick at age 21 either.
the difference is pretty clearly doping. Kincaid just looks like a doper. If Teare joins btc and starts eating burritos he'll be able to close the gap. Sad to see someone who is the most likely to be clean get 4th.
