Here is the point at which people are alleging MaClean "barrelled into Osika and nearly took her teammate Purrier out in the process."
MaClean is a clear lane over from Purrier and clearly in front of the rest of the field, while the only outstretched elbows are Simpson, Osika, and Hiltz.
https://imgur.com/a/pM90YKK/Folks are just upset that MaClean had the audacity to actually try and qualify for an Olympic team from an outside position.
That still shot is from about 2 seconds after she sent Osika flying into Purrier. Maclean was a bull in a China shop. She cutoff about three runners on her way inside. I think she purposefully cut off Mehra after her alleged obstruction in the semis. If she wanted a better inside position at the start she should have run faster in the semis (she really shouldn't have been allowed into the final at all). But oh well. If they don't throw a flag, it's not a penalty.
On a personal level, I hate to see runners make BS moves like this. I was knocked down in my regional meet in high school in the 800 (after I won the 1600) and had to miss state in the 800, and got knocked down in an indoor 800 in college (only race I didn't finish in my life). Both times by people cutting in towards the rail before they were a stride clear. Bad tactics need to be called out.
