Are you new here? LRC are equal opportunity haters. Everyone gets flamed on here.
Could not agree more. Some small egos to be so threatened by a person living openly and having success.

Not this much.
That's great! Keep us updated!
nobody is threatened by it. it just comes off as attention seeking. nobody cares about what gender nikki hiltz feels like or doesn't feel like.
attention seeking... cmon high school xc coach
Taking a shot normally means somebody has physically punched another for no reason. It has become to be used in the metaphorical sense also. But again, it means somebody who is quietly going about their life is attacked. But Hiltz has asked for special treatment. She is the person at the airport who cuts in the front of the line and says she is in a hurry because she is more important than you.
Didn’t Nick Symmonds date their older sister?
I have nothing against Nikki or any other LGBTQ+ individual. What is bothersome is the culture that the majority is supposed to conform to or risk cancellation. That we can't make a perfectly honest mistake such as saying she when referring to athletes in a WOMEN's event. That biological women are being erased and expected to accept transgendered folks into their protected spaces that are protected for good reason, such at sports. I have no problem respecting people but I'm not going to be brainwashed by "wokeness"

So because you see it as attention seeking, you feel the need to constantly take shots at her sexuality?
Agreed. The women in that race should just deal with it.

this is the first time i have ever commented on nikki and I did not take a shot at "her" sexuality.
and it is attention seeking. that is fact.
Should she run in the mans 1500m finals then?
If so, I predict pure devistation by an approximate ~30 ish second ass beating. Will not make the team.

I listened to a recent Citius Podcast episode with Nikki and they said that although they prefer ‘they/them’ pronouns, if someone calls them ‘she/her’ it’s not a big deal. They understand that non-binary is a relatively new thing and it will take people time to learn/get used to it. You can have an issue with cancel culture but don’t take it out on Nikki, they aren’t encouraging the cancellation of anyone.

For a young runner struggling with their identity, having someone like Nikki could mean the world. Nikki came out as a lesbian when I was in undergrad. I was out of the closet at that point and was no longer struggling with my sexuality. However, if I had a gay runner to look up to when I was closeted in high school that would have meant so much to me. Representation matters.

No, but people should stop making this silly comment. Will happen again tomorrow: “I guess Nikki woke up feeling like a woman this morning!” “Shouldn’t Nikki be disqualified for running against women?!” Lame.
A rare sensible post - thank you!

it's not silly. it's just really odd how many men transitioning into women go for the weaker competition. Yet how many are moving up in competition?
nobody thinks nikki should be diqualified, they are just making a point of how silly all of this bs is.

It is. But there is a difference here. I hope no one is saying Nikki doesn’t deserve our respect. If Nikki prefers the “they” pronoun, that is great.
But what of the other women in the race? What do they deserve?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
