All of you who disagreed with USATF's position of originally allowing SH to run, are racist.

What a joke.
All the cops arresting black criminals are racist.

No I am not doing that.
The USATF needs to get their act together. Maybe that overpaid Siegel guy has to step down.
Rudeness is now racism? I firmly believe that the racist boogeyman does not lurk underneath every keystroke. Perhaps I should check myself, but is calling someone "Chicken Little" racist, or is it just misogynistic and Eurocentric if one goes back to the "Henny Penny" roots of the tale?
His actual argument, which is kind of buried within the article, is that USATF was simply waiting for official notification of the ban. Can anyone confirm whether this is true or not?
And if this was USATF's logic, why was she taken out of the lineup to begin with? If they were waiting for official notification, she should have just been left in the lineup from the beginning. But instead, they removed her and then put her back in. Why would you do this if you were simply awaiting official documentation?
Beyond that, the article is basically nothing more than tone policing.
As a lifelong fan of the sport, I'm well past the point of ever reading Abrahamson's writing again. It's always some form of apologia for entrenched power and status quo preservation. Over and over, it fails to be an elucidating exercise.
Calling stuff racist is losing its power.
Ok sure, it’s racist, whatever, so is everything…
What a nut job!

Unfortunately, it's not. Liberals still consume and galvanize themselves on every opportunity to claim racism. Just read this message board, if you don't believe me. There's about 15-20 posters who practically trip over themselves trying to tag everyone else a racist.
Check all the big media outfits. In my opinion, articles alleging racism in even the most obscure events or aspects of society, are at an all time high. You can escape this stuff, and it's at mania/hysteria levels.
Agreeing or disagreeing with them is something that he or I can do whether it is based on race or not. That is our right of free speech.
Coward
He would be better off posting smoothie bowl recipes on Youtube, like the better-known Abrahamson.
Nobody, absolutely nobody, gives a sh@t what color Siegel’s skin is.
They do give a sh@t that he:
- sold USATF’s soul to Nike
- has mismanaged the National office staff
- has bungled one thing after the other
- was intent to allow an athlete currently SERVING a doping suspension to compete in the Olympic Trials against clean athletes.
Black people can also be bad people.
lol. how ridiculous. who even knew usatf was run by a couple of black fellas. who cares

Yeah, LRers are always reacting to some moron I've never heard of as if he speaks for all liberals. That pillow guy is dismissed as being a nut job and this guy should be as well.
Liberals hate people like him who were down and out but pulled themselves up to become successful. They always bury those stories.
A.A. is a hack journalist. I stopped reading reading anything he wrote years ago after his hit piece on the entire city of Boston while writing a pro LA article for the Olympics.
Oh, I thought this was going to be about Emma Abrahamson and her blog. Carry on.

Yeah, I thought this was one of his stranger articles. He starts out with painting criticism of Siegel and Washington as being racist and ignoring legitimate concerns like the Nike deal (which might be a good deal but certainly controversial) or that the sport is no more higher profile now than when Max took over. Then he transitions into an explanation of the Houlihan case. Ok, this might be a legit rationale but does not play well.
Also, the accusations of the group who signed a letter protesting Houlihan is also being labeled as racist because all but a few of the signatories are white is really over the top.
It reminds me of people calling criticism of Obamacare racist because Obama was behind it. No doubt some people opposed Obama because he is black; however, legitimate policy issues were there just as they had been when Clinton was president.

I have mixed thoughts on AA. There are times I read him and think that he is shilling to keep access to folks in the know. But this one is really beyond the pale to me.
