All 4 of these statements were meticulously choreographed to deceive the public and sway public opinion in their favor. They crafted their press conference wanting you to believe that she ate a pork burrito from a Mexican food truck, or food cart, or restaurant depending on who's lie you believe, and that was the cause of her failed test. They had to say it was pork, because if they said it was beef, their story falls apart. There is no evidence of a pork burrito and if you look at their statements, they don't even claim she ate a pork burrito, They all got together and prepared statements that were precisely misleading enough as to give the appearance that she ate a pork burrito. They knew the statements were misleading at best, outright lies at the worst.
Shelby's Statement:
"We concluded that the most likely explanation was a burrito purchased and consumed approximately 10 hours before that drug test from an authentic Mexican food truck that happens to serve pig offal near my house in Beaverton Oregon. I notified the AIU that I believe that this was the source."
Shalane's Statement:
"In December of 2020, she ate dinner from a local Portland food cart, she unknowingly ordered a burrito with meat that contained nandrolone. The following morning Shelby was tested by the AIU."
Jerry's Statement
"Shelby's positive test was for an exceedingly small amount of a substance, that is known from WADA's own studies to be present in certain types of pork, less than 12 hours after she ate at a Mexican food truck that served pig organ meat."
Lawyer's Statement
"And in Shelby's case, she ate uh, she ate a burrito about 10 hours before, from a Mexican restaurant and that we concluded very, very early on, contained pig organ meat. Pig organ meat is one of the sources for nandrolone."
