Right. And the best 400m runners of the last several years generally have been speed guys that built the strength to run the quarter mile, unlike the traditional “long sprinters.” Look at guys like Gardiner, Makwala, Van Niekerk, Norman, Kerley - they all have run sub-19.9 or sub 10 or both, to pair with sub-44s.

The hand should never drop below the upper chest at all points during the race from start to finish.
But yay.... swing your arms as fast as you can. Do a pointless back swing. The farther back you swing your arm, the faster you will go. Keep thinking that.
The 90 degree arm angle is something they taught athletes in like the year 1821.

You realize the poster owns the world record in the 400m for males above 6’, weighing at keast 220lbs, and that can only do one-armed bench presses on a smith machine?
