Does any elite athlete run barefoot anymore? Never understood the concept...
I started doing all my 200m strides barefoot on concrete a year ago. Within a week, I was introduced to Mr. Stress Fracture.
I can't believe what the guy did in the '60 marathon.
actually, running barefoot greatly strengthens the muscles in your feet while making you conform to your most natural stride. obviously you must start slow, not on fast 200s on concrete, but rather a slow 10 minute jog on grass or turf.
i have down this, and i feel that there are true benifits. whether or not this helped me improve, I don't know for sure, but I have read about the concept, tried it, and believe it.
