Well, since the vaccine doesn't actually protect people from getting Covid, if he really believes the mask will save him, it is logical for him to keep illogically wearing it.
Everything from wearing masks to social distancing to the vaccine is a sham. The masks don't stop the virus, social distancing, at least at 6 feet (several miles probably works), is silly, and they said with the experimental vaccines that they didn't know how long they would last or if they would actually protect someone from getting Covid. Most people have gotten quite ill after getting the vaccine. Like the same ill that people get when they have Covid. Some people have had horrible reactions to the vaccine, far worse than most with Covid. Others have gotten Covid even after being fully vaccinated for more than two weeks. So it's all either leaders who don't know what to do so they are just doing anything to make it look like they are doing something, or it is worse than that.
And the media hasn't "made" him scared of his own shadow. He has chosen to be scared. The media lies and propaganda have certainly influenced him to make this choice, but being scared is a choice.
