My son was watching a Nick Symmonds youtube video and I said, "why don't you watch one of his actual races instead of these goofy exploits?"
So he picked the 2008 Olympic Trials 800m. It was a thrilling race, with Symmonds a dominant 1, Wheating closing well for 2nd, and Christian bearded Kansas guy diving for 3rd.
But I was amazed to see Lopez MF Lomong in that race. Amazing to see him as a MD star in his youth, and now STILL running great, but at the 5 and 10k.
Has there ever been another US runner with both amazing longevity, but even more impressively to me, the RANGE of excellence fro 800m to 10k???
