Before Oregon cracked down recently I was thinking the only question was whether they would allow 50% fans or more at the Trials. 25% seemed like a bare minimum.
However, now it seems like friends and family may not be allowed.
The Oregon governor denied a request yesterday for the 2 popular pro soccer teams in Portland to allow 15% capacity for 2 nationally televised games this week.
Washington state is allowing 25% fans for outdoor events and California 33%. Oregon allows 100 people total.
There's not much time for the governor to change her mind and she turned down 2 of the most popular entities in her state.
I live in CT and case numbers here actually aren't much different per capita than Oregon, yet we are 100% capacity indoor dining and 50% capacity for outdoor sports. It's more an issue of political will and where you are coming from in terms of covid cases and Oregon is now the strictest in the country.
Anyone hopeful for fans in Eugene?
