"these communities have experienced some of the state's highest rates of infection and deaths"
I guess they make contact with the outside world, contract the virus and bring it in to their tight community.

All general "fact check" sites are bogus. All have been exposed as being financed by the vaccine/pharma industry.
Ah, well, nevertheless,
So yes, they have herd immunity, "But don't do what they do!" And they wonder why the public has such cognitive dissonance on this.
A lot of Amish people enter the public areas of towns and cities while in their typical attire to get necessities such as groceries. Sometimes they bring their families, sometimes its just the husband who goes. They could come by horse which is their mode of transport or perhaps even arrange a car ride with non Amish people if they know people outside of their own. They usually enjoy this, going out into society, just to people watch and see what it is like outside of their society.
As for the pandemic, the Amish were about the last people to catch on and understand what was going on. They would show up in public without masks due to not being aware they were mandatory in some areas. I have seen them in masks within regular society now because they've been informed of what's going on. They eventually catch on, but communication is obviously more difficult for them without phones and electronics.
As for a more personal story, I knew an Amish woman that totally rebelled and left the Amish community when she became An adult. She was a little crazy and messed up for sure (but aren't we all) from being raised like that, not liking it, and missing out on some aspects of civilized regular society. She started getting all these tattoos (which the amish would never do), just basically was motivated to rebel and do the opposite of what being Amish entailed. I had sex with her and it was great, but the craziness was evident due to her conflicting way of being raised versus how she really wanted to live. We can't choose our parents and we are a product of our environment. I can't blame her for what she chooses to do or for her problems but the sex was exceptional.

"Don't sacrifice thousands to a preventable illness" is good advice, actually.
The denier talking points are just getting dumb. Please try harder.
My daughter works in ICU at a hospital near PA Amish country. They've been hit quite hard and her hospital has had quite a few Amish Covid patients in ICU at her hospital.
