I could list a dozen reasons why I'm leery of the long-term (1-2 year) effects of the vaccine. LetsRun being what it is, this list will be cherry-picked and the rest of my concerns ignored. Still, here are a few of my concerns.
Pharmaceutical companies have a history of shady dealings. They've ignored side effects and made billions on a drug and then paid out a few million in lawsuits later. The bottom line is that they don't care about side effects if they make enough profits to dwarf the payout in lawsuits. In this case, PHARMA HAS IMMUNITY from lawsuits. Wow! Has their private research with prior mRNA vaccines shown side effects? Would they tell us if it had? Of course not.
The Pfizer vaccine was developed in less than 90 days... maybe only 60 days. Research allegedly started in January and the first four test subjects were vaccinated on April 29, 2020. Talk about rushed! It's all about being the first to corner the market and make billions.
The mRNA technology has never been used on a coronavirus before. Never. Is it safe? Well, it appears to be safe for a few months. We don't know longer-term data because only 36 people will have been vaccinated for one year as of June 2021.
The bottom line is that we can't know the long-term effects until we have a large database of subjects who have been vaccinated for the long term. What is the risk of major complications down the road? We simply do not know. This is the risk that I wish to avoid. What is that risk? It could be nil. It could be minimal. It could be severe side effects for a few tens of thousands of people. It could be catastrophic side effects resulting in death or severe complications for millions of people. We. Do. Not. Know.
How many of these risks are you willing to accept? Everyone seems to be willing to take the first two risks of nil or minimal risk, but the hard fact is that you're accepting all of them when you get the vaccine, as unlikely as you might think they will be.
Experts are rolling the dice with millions of lives betting that the long-term effects will be minimal or that they will deal with the long-term effects later once they get COVID under control.
I get it. I understand that you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelet. Hopefully, the risk will be nil or minimal. You take it. I'll wait and see.
Best of luck to everyone.
