Gee I can hardly wait. She will be doing the Drake Relays and the Oregon Relays.

Could be a fun drinking game how many times she cries or mentions her son during the broadcast
Typical White Female Privilege.
Is she going to use foul language?
hahahaha classic.
What are the odds she says, "well, when I ran we used traditional shoes and spikes..."
I'm excited to listen to her broadcast. Shalane and Des had excellent commentary and a great perspective when they did commentary. Good luck Kara!
After she get's fired from broadcasting The Gouchers and Alberto should go in Jerry Springer.
People don't mention this much but white female privilege is a real thing. Asian, Native American and females of other races don't have it.
A lot of females in media, healthcare, and other corporate roles have a leg up over males because of it. More doors open to them easily. Even if they do work hard (and I know they do), it's still easier for them to get these comfy roles that men (whites and non-whites) and women of other races don't get.
I hope NBC issues her clothing with the Nike logo on it.
I brought it up because it is real. Has Kara ever run Drake Relays? Wouldn't a Drake Relays broadcast benefit more from an experienced relay runner like a Sanya Richards-Ross or anyone else up and coming from a spring perspective? Save Kara for Marathons, etc.

She ain't cute, she ain't hot, she is dumb as a box of rocks and is way old. She will be bawling her eyes out.
That's a good point about the Drake Relays needing a more experienced broadcaster.
I DO think women work hard to get to where they are, but I also think some (not all) take their privilege for granted. (This goes for some white males too, to be honest).
It goes like this, at least from the suburbs where I live now but where I also came from:
HS girls are popular and come from middle-class to upper-class suburbs, then they go to a 4-year college and were socialites, either with sororities or other organizations. This built them networks, so they got great jobs out of college and had a smooth ride up the corporate world. Others had to start at the bottom and work at small jobs to get experience.
In some cases, women are tougher to work for than men, and are more political. And men can be very political.
As an Asian-American male we aren't laughed at or anything, which is good, but just ignored/passed over most of the time.
Sure thing... I'll be taking $100 bets that she'll be crying ;-)

Take a sip if she talks about her pro career
Take a sip if she talks about super shoes
Finish your drink if she mentions her family
Take a shot if she starts crying
Two shots if she mentions Alberto
Maybeit's her NBC debut but I've certainly heard and seen her announcing elsewhere. I think it's a bit odd how much this board hates Kara. She was right about just about everything.
NBC just stepped in a pile of it. There are hundreds of better qualified, more respected, more diverse, and less loathed potential commentators than Kara Goucher. I simply won’t be able to watch now.

I think you mean being a nice and good looking female gets you privilege, buddy. Ugly women get screwed for certain jobs. Actually, the truth is, there is minority privilege these days because if a company is hiring, 9 times out of 10 they will favor the minority candidate (non white) because they want to preach "inclusivity and diversity." This means if you are white, it is actually far more difficult to get hired at certain companies. Get out of here with your race baiting, low IQ drivel. We need to hold these races baiters accountable. Ironically, they are the closet racists themselves!
I stand corrected on that re: looks.
I'm also not race baiting, just being honest as an Asian-American.
I agree with you on the parts about good-looking women getting jobs and others not getting them.

Female coach having affair with male runner. Should I report it?
