wasn't she hurt at the end of outdoor?
i'm pretty sure her knee was bandaged at us jrs when she ran the 3k and didn't do so well ?9:50 something
plus her outdoor results before that weren't so stellar i mean nicole blood was beating her in the 800 and that's not exactly blood's race
also maybe she's a little beat up with the transition to training at altitude it can be hard for some people
She has been racing hard since she was around 10 yrs. old. I think she won a national championship in the 800 at that age or close to it.
I guess all the hard track training and racing is taking it's toll.

I'm not really so sure 1825 is a poor time for the girl, she's more known for her 800/mile anywys then for her 3k. she's sparsly raced xc over the years as well and i've seen times like this from her last year as well and she did just fine when healthy indoors.
She ran a 448.93 mile indoors last year which was her pr to date which was faster then A.ryan and Blood indoors last year and only slower then Bowman, so lets cut this "training to hard as a youngster" crap and see what she does.
Sorry dumbass, she qualified for footlocker as a soph, and ran faster at Van Cortland than she did at the flat Notre Dame course this year as a college frosh.
Yes, she is still talented but she isn't healthy very often anymore, so think again.
She might have run faster than Blood or Ryan, but they didn't get to run on the BU speedway against open comp.
Chantelle ran 18:18 three years ago at Franklin Park. A few weeks before that she rain 17:39 on an aided road course. Six months ago she ran 17:51 on a certifed road course. She's a miler by inclination, but was definitely off her form somewhat at Notre Dame. Inconsistency happens, especially to freshmen.
As someone who's watched Chantelle race quite frequently, a trend in her racing is she goes out VERY HARD and sometimes blows up.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case in this race.
