What place would he come in? What percentage do you give him of winning?

To be honest, with that stride, I say he cracks a femur at about 15km. On grass or mondo, that's great, but with that huge bouncy stride up on the balls of the feet on hard concrete and asphalt, that's damaging to the legs.
Most tracks are rubber or mondo on top of asphalt or even concrete. So running on asphalt with flats isn't that much different. Perhaps he could have a pair of mondo soled racing flats made.
Yeah, because he gets so many stress fractures and injuries from his aweful stride.
S***, I want his stride. That stride can be credited two world records.

He doesn't run road races.
i think he ran the 5k leg of the WR ekiden team a couple of years back and the team included shine gebremaiam, brihanu etc., only haile was missing.
Kenenisa's 5k split at Chiba Ekiden was 13:09 in 2002
He is a little better than that. I believe he can break the road 5k and 10k records .. don't know about the longer records.
bouncy? He's got an amazingly smooth stride...and I think his femur would be just fine, thank you.
he'd break 59
Everyone acts as if when Bekele moves up the half and the marathon will be his for the taking, but everyone is forgetting that he will have a kid named Wanjiru waiting for him.
Kenenisa Bekele last ran a road race in late 2003. Between the World Athletics Final 3km and the All African Games 5k he can the Memorial Peppo Greco 10k race in Italy, a famous race, he won easily.
His stride is perfect.
If Kenenisa just jumped into yesterdays race without doing additional half marathon training, he would be in the top 5 for sure, but I can't guarantee a win because half marathon is different training than 10k. But if he trained for half marathon after Helsinki, he'd probably win
My God... the f***er has ran 26:17. He'd crush the half-marathon world record!
