Say it ain't so. If so, what kind?

Sorry, but it's not true.
Who is your source about Withrow, I have a source that says different!
No he is not hurt. I was at the Notre Dame Invitational and talked to couple of Wisconsin runners. They stated he will be running next week or there after.
All I keep is hearing is how Withrow is hurt but I'm yet to hear what it is that he supposedly hurt. Give me something to work with....it seems to be made up to me.
well all I keep hearing is how he will run next week or the week after when he was suppose to run at N.D. Smoke screen is in effect by the Wisconsin guys. Naturally they arent going to let anyone know he is hurt, not good for their moral to be telling people that when their #1 ranking is a result of his supposed presence. My source is as reliable as you can get and that's all I can say. Question: Everyone has raced now on the Wisconsin team but Withrow, logic asks why didn't he race if he is not hurt? Duh, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure this one out!
*And I am tired of people on dyestat and other places calling me a troll. I have no vested interest in whether he is injured or not, just relaying information the clarify the situation. HE'S HURT or he would have run N.D.-he was scheduled to run and he couldn't.
But you are a troll. Troll. Go back under your bridge. Troll.
No, I believe him now. Withrow ran in the first meet of the year and won, but not since. They were late for the University race so the team ran in the open race.
I was however, expecting Matt to be in the race since it is close enough to home for his family to come watch. No troll, just an interested fan I think.
Withrow is not hurt everyone, chill out. This is all part of the startegy to keep him as fresh as possible for nats. I don't know who your source is saying he is hurt but he is lying to you. Turst me, I know. As for not racing yet this year, you are wrong. He opened up at the Indiana State meet a few weeks back.
My logic tells me you're apparently retarded because:
1. He did race at Indiana State.
2. Someone just talked to his teammates yesterday and they said he was fine.
3. Seems pretty smart to limit the amount of times that Withrow, Solinsky, and Bairu race each other.
4. Apparently Tin Nelson is injurred too using your "logic."
Tell your source they do not know what they are talking about.

regarding your 5 points:
1) Is it not impossible for him to have gotten hurt since that race.
2. I know when i was hurt in college my teammates would lie to other runners. Could be happening here. Asking the guys at a meet sure isn't a good source. If you know one of them well, different story. Plus, your "someone" who apparently spoke to his teammates isn't exactly a great source.
3. I never thought about this. Makes sense i guess. Makes more sense in track though. XC is a team sport where track is an individual sport where we count team points. much different. I can't remember most of the great teams of the past not racing their own members head to head but I kinda get it. It's not like Simon Chris and Matt have to go all out to beat each other in these races. Just do what Stanford did a few years ago and switch winners each race.
4. Would it be that far of a stretch for Matt and Tim both to be hurt? Tons of top teams have multiple injuries.
Bottom line is, where there is smoke there is fire. I think he is probably hurt.

By the way, they love this strategy. The dude redshirted all three seasons last year and raced like 4 times total.
Let em loose Jerry!
regarding your reply
1. The guy before said Withrow has yet to race, I was pointing out that he in fact had.
2. They could be fabricating a story, or they could simply be telling the TRUTH.
3. Stanford ran split squads a ton the year they won it. Robison usually was held out up until conference. I don't know what Jerry's rationale is, but I do know that Withrow is healthy.
4. Both Tim Nelson and Matt Withrow are completely healthy, I know much better than any of your sources.
I have no clue where this rumor started or why, but it is completely false. Let it go.
I went to HS with Matt. I talked to him three days ago and i assure you he is very healthy and fit
I'm assuming Withrow healthy as well.
Bairu in great form as defending champ. Solinsky maybe more impressive than Bairu....WC 60th placer Withrow. Did someone actually say Colorado would trash them at Nationals??? Didn't Stanford win with Robison as their top guy and aren't all 3 likely better than he ever was??? Wisconsin may have the best #3 runner in modern times, whichever guy it'll be.
Hey donkey, if you knew he was healthy why didnt you say it? You tried to refute rumors with what appeared to be speculation. If you know for a fact that he isn't hurt than say that s***. Regarding your 4th comment- i have zero sources. I, like many, am speculating. Never said he is/was/is not hurt. Just trying to put the pieces together on why he didnt run a race he was supposed to run.And as for stanford, they'd split their squad many ways and the front guys would run together and pick who they wanted to win. Vin (or Andy) didnt hold out certain guys against others. They were in a far different situaish. They had so many runners (20+) that coulda been varsity guys so they HAD to split the squad.Robison sat out because he raced into late August.

Matt Withrow is fine, he is limiting his racing for the incredible base building that will alow him to perform just as he did last year enroute to the top U.S. performance at Mens world cross championships. It only makes sense to unleash this beast on the the NCAA world when he is ready to match that performance, and his incredible 5K (13:36) run last spring. Watch out world.
You guys need to clear the smoke in front of your eyes! If you call what Withrow did at Indiana State as a "race" you guys are pathetic. Him running 25:00 is not racing. So yes technically he was in a race but he did not go all out or in fact race! I have spoken to Wagner and Withrow is not at 80%, wouldnt go into details. I dont know what the big deal is , people get hurt all the time!
Call me crazy, but I swear I saw Withrow at the Chicago lakefront today. My team was cooling down (we raced at the Loyola Invitational) and he was headed in the opposite direction. Did anyone else there see him, if that really was him?
I still don't understand the logic of breaking up your team and never racing everyone together early on etc. Just lace em up and race together. Half the time all this crap back fires with a bunch of guys who aren't used to running together as a team in a racing situation. These guys aren't so delicate that they can't race a couple of times in Sept. and a couple of times in Oct and still be ready for the NCAA's at the end of Nov. Sure if a guys a bit banged up hold him out a meet or two, but all this running partial squads is stupid and not good for the sport. All these so-called hot shot coaches trying to show how clever they are. Sorry but I just don't get it.
