I know that feel, Rupp. I do similar passive-aggressive move for walkers or joggers in lane 1, kinda like how fighter jets "buzz" enemy ships.

What is with Rupp's serious stare in this video?
That clinic had a prescient name.
he was soo aggrieved that just seconds later in the video him and a mate are jogging/walking pace and his mate in lane 1.
This sums things up pretty well:
Yeah if he shoved them over and yelled GET THE HELL OUT THE WAY I wouldn't blame him. And the thing is some of these entitled idiots actually feel as if its somehow their right to block lane 1 waddling around.

Why do you mention two walkers when one was clearly running?
1/2

He stares directly into the camera until it’s his turn to talk lol, kind of weird.

With that slow turnover he definitely isn't sprinting, either. And doesn't AlSal look loaded?
One of them is the same guy he's running with at the end.
Rupp was doing a repeat, the interval would be the rest between repeats.
Sweet jesus the Rupp stare for the entire first minute of that video was so uncomfortable. All the while they are standing SOOOO freaking close LOL
I feel bad because that’s toooootally whoever’s filming fault that they didn’t IMMEDIATELY pick up on the awkwardness of it all. Poor Galen.
He seemed to give them a wide berth. I don't see a problem with what he did. He was just sharing the track. That's what it is all about. Let me share a story.
I was doing a slow 5K on one of the local high school tracks in lane 1. A group of club runners began doing repeat 400's. As they approached me, they yelled out "Track!" They expected me to move out and give them the right of way. I stayed in lane 1 and went about my business. When they approached me with their third "Track!", I picked a runner, sped up and ran alongside him as he tried to pass. (Even fat and out of shape, I could run a 50ish 400. He wasn't going anywhere.) He sped up. I sped up. I moved into lane 2, then 3, then 4, then 5... His response was to keep trying to run faster. Eventually he ended up sprawled against the fence that circled the track. They continued their workout. I continued mine in lane 1 and had no more trouble with them.
Here's my take on it. Faster workouts do not get preference to the inside on a public track (unless there are posted rules that say so). The obese, elderly and out of shape need the inside lane more than the club runners do. Measuring the distance exactly is important to them and helps them with a feeling of accomplishment. It's easy for them to get discouraged if they are approached by a group of hostile runners. The few extra steps it takes to go around them will make you a better runner. If you really need precise measurement, the staggers are all there for using the outer lanes and the gentler curve will be easier on your legs and allow you to get more work done.
And as you pass them, give them a wide berth. Try comments like "lookin' good", "way to go", "beautiful day to run." Make someone's day. It might be the best workout you've ever had.

He splits two women. He runs with one guy.
Aye I ran my HS 800m and 400m PR on that track!
It makes sense now that I know it’s been graced by galens majesty.

Stay away from Salazar's doctors.
Thought he was gonna bust 16 bars
I agree with the philosophy you have on giving those who NEED the first lane the opportunity to use it, but
the first part of this just so unnecessary. Just talk to the coach, don't speed up next to the athletes (who you could talk to at the END of their repeat anyways, ffs). 400's are hard enough as it is haha
Seriously F you, people who are slow and 'running' in lane one need to GTFO of the way because you are RUNNING SLOW. It won't matter if you're in lane 5. For someone doing repeats, yes, it does make a difference. Don't be that jackass who walks in lane one, end of story.
You resurrected a 4 year old video for this?
