Horrible. Did you know that former ISIS members in Canada are allowed to take vacations with their girlfriends?

Why not?
He is out on parole.
The point is rehabilitation, not fvcking people over for the rest of their life.
Oh wait, the US actually likes to have the highest rate of imprisonment on earth. My bad.

No, the point is rehabilitation and deterrence. Many US penalties are too high for some offenses, but for DUI they are way too low. If people want to drink and do drugs, that is their issue. and their family's. Once they get behind a 4000 pound piece of metal that can go 100 mph, it becomes everyone's issue. Increase the penalties for this kind of behavior and it will decline.

Left wingers just need to come out and admit that they care more about criminals than victims of criminals. We get it, left wingers are inclined towards degeneracy.

Dude, you are talking about DUI. I agree with you about DUI.
My post was about someone on parole from something completely different. Read more closely. Preventing a parolee from dating doesn't help with rehabilitation and deterrence.
Again, I agree with you about DUI. You just missed the plot.

What victim?
He was convicted of "trying to join ISIS"? I don't see any victim here, just a guy we want to deter and rehabilitate.
I'm not even left wing. I am right wing and would rather not spend $50,000 of tax money per year on jailing someone if it doesn't get results.

I’m a “retribution” type of thinker on this. Screw rehabilitation. You kill someone, you suffer.
