HHW: That KOM workout sounds “fun.” Where do all those coyotes keep coming from?
RRR: Definitely seeing the benefit of that lifting regime I’d say.
Stone: Looks like things are coming along – and again, interesting set-up to be doing your workouts with some miles in your legs from pacing Mrs. Stone the day before.
Sub 6: Always fun to see turkeys. Running in the snow a couple of years ago, I followed the tracks from a flock of turkeys down a trail for several miles. (Think it was the day after the Yuki/Desi Boston Marathon, as a matter of fact.)
OR: Getting some good strong running in. The adjusted schedule seems to be suiting you.
Victor: Adjusting to schedule changes takes a bit, especially on the early end. Trying to get out and get the power of the early AM more myself.
get it faster: Congrats on the TT. If you’re going to misjudge your fitness, that’s definitely the way you want to do it!
Seppo: Solid work in the half. Hope the achilles is healing up for you.
darkwave: Ice is the worst (though in my opinion, treadmills might be even worster). On the other hand, I think alternation workouts are great, but there is definitely a learning curve. Sounds like you’re planning a smart adjustment. One thing I found to be helpful when I was getting the hang of alternations was to approach it like a progression run with surges, so that if I was doing a 4 x 1k/1k, the “down” ks might progress from something like 4:40s down to 4:20s.
ZM: Very tough running in high wind like that.
lurker: Solid performance in that four mile. Looks like you’ve taken a nice step forward since the 5k.
rucker: Sometimes you just need a reset. Sounds like a good plan going forward.
dirtroads: Heavy legs maybe not that surprising five weeks out from the marathon? Sounds like you’ve been putting in good work, and running the 10k just a couple of ticks off your PR suggests you’re in pretty good shape.
Sam: Hope the foot recovers promptly.
Lanc: Solid week. Just gotta work around the weather sometimes this time of year.
Tyler: Love the goals, and getting after it with those workouts. (By the way, “grinder” is the New England term for a submarine sandwich. Looks like yours came with a little extra .)
npurdy: Those mittens you linked reminded me of the boiled wool mittens my grandmother gave me. Sadly mine are lost in the mists of time, but those things are super warm.
